Tedbf is the most optimal Design after ut it would be new generation , fa xx type , radar would be photonic , propulsion may get to see some breakthrough , electric propulsion and all
Can you tell me a little about the Photonic radar, electric propulsion personally?

JF 17 issue was they couldn't afford the money to pay for Italian radar and integration cost involved.

Also they don't use rd33 engine but rd 93 (which is the older unreliable smoky version) though another uprated version is also available if money is put into it but due to Indian pressure perhaps russia ain't offering them so.

In future they may get it what they need is money.
Yes they couldn't afford European avionics and had to compromise on shitty chinese junk. But even chinese are capable of giving liquid cooled aesa and yet jf17 can only manage air cooled one . That's solely due to lack of power available.

Not solely due to lack of power but cost and space that might have required some structural change.

They had offer for liquid cooled too by china.

The dry thrust is 50 kn around for rd 93.

Well they don't stop the work once Uttam meant for mk1/1a is undergoing trials. Different modes are being tested and software upgrades are happening alongside.

For mk2 they are increasing trm packing Rest everything is same and will benefit from the trials ongoing.

This is conventional progress.
It means uttam MK1 for LCA MK1/ A is in production stage ? Good progress then.

If the report of pakis buying only 30 JF 17 BK3 is true then it means that some one at some stage f**ed up real bad with block 3.

When was Uttam MK1 manufactured ?
LRDE assembled 3 units, 1 of which was trialed on a business jet, and the other two are continuing flight trials on Tejas LSPs. Those were not production standard units, rather they were prototypes to test the functionality, software, the algorithms, etc.

This new tender seems to be for a production run of quite a few units that will be used on the 50-60 of the Tejas Mk1As.

Does the new tender mean that the results shown by the prototypes are acceptable?

Can you shed more details on your conclusion. How and why it is outdated.
Also how F-16 or F-15 era fighters are still in active service. You may have a bias but blanket statement like that have no substance.
Very big RCS, Not very advance EW, Missiles are bellow par with west, radar is not AESA, high fuel consumption, more maintdnence etc.

F16 and F15 are also outdated but their elcctronics are at par with best.

Lot of jets don't have aesa including eurofighter typhoon. Su30mki will get in soon. Missile are a matter of procurement. Derby er and mica ir and Astra ngram make it on par with western counterparts only meteor type Is missing that too will come soon with sfdr. Bramhos has no equivalent in world in speed and devastating impact right now.

It's ew is pretty advanced and with upgrad gan based ew will make it even better.

Su30mki also has ace up its sleeve which is all of them are twin seater including weapons systems officer which is a bonanza in case of unmanned teams and drone swarm operations. Nothing can match su30mki in those operation because it will have a dedicated pilot for it not Rafale nor lca not even f35 can dream to match su30mki in upcoming command centre type utility .

So untill it is done , it is outdated.

Since the prototype will be rolled out next year Aug, shouldn't the tender for mk2's version of Uttam be out soon too?
Regardless of the radar that is fitted on the final production variant the first prototype won't have it, it'll be a pretty basic product mostly there to validate the aerodynamics and FCS.
