Mig35 is a weight class above mwf with mtow of 25 tons. Its more like F16/J10 than M2k or mwf.
Mig35 has 18 tons of thrust...
MWF is suppossed to have 12 tons at best ( only with epe ) while the engine which is suppossed to be powering it INS6 is 10 tons only.

Mig 35 is a great plane particularly as an interceptor. Nothing can match it in Dog fight and close combat fight. However, Because of big RCS and not having AESA with ultra long range BVR like Meteor, its BVR capability falls way short of latest available globally.

It does have an aesa (Zhuk AME) .

I don't think rcs matters for fighter jets with figures over 1m². For example 2 jets with rcs of 10m² and 1m² will both be detected over missile envelope for most radars. The difference of a factor of 10 will still mean only about 40% reduction in pure detection range.

Example -
Apg77 from F22 can detect 1m² at 240km while 10m² at 400km, but it can't really do anything about it till they are within 200km of its distance since that is the farthest engagement distance of aim120d.( that too for slow moving cargo jet).

Being fast is much more necessary than being 1m² or 5m² in rcs.

What will you do with low cost if you are shot at way before you can see enemy. In an exercise with French airforce, Mig 29 could detect Rafale from 60 KM. In real situation, Mig 29 would have gone even before it can see rafale with rafale shooting Meteor over 100 km away.

I too ferment heating that. But it's about to enter detail design phase next month, how could they have declared to start metal cutting without deciding how to cut the metal! And expected date for rolling out is still same, August 2022. Publicity stunt?

Couldn't be due to the retractable refueling-probe & DSI (either or both may be added, not confirmed)... that's work for detail-design.

do u know that MWF will have many new features that no aircraft have till now in our inventory except rafale . still it is the fastest development of any aircraft according to western standards.

We can comment on that when everything is complete upto first flight.

So it actually should be just as fast to be 'developed'..

The most important development that can happen this year is signing of '83 Mk1a'...

in central fuselage add one drop tank and add sfdr bvr astra mk3 ( drop LDP / EW pod ) below the air intakes on both sides.

Wing tip CCM both side

Call it interception / air defence configuration

And don't forget to label the missiles
