Really...! FOC after all this years of testing and integrating new features (A2A refueling,8.5G) is being reduced to mere political propaganda. To be honest, If it were not for present govt. the LCA program would have certainly got reduced to mere tech demonstrator of 20-40 orders just like Arjun project. Even if its political propaganda its the most extensively tested FOC(w/o one crash from first flight) and there is nothing wrong if modi govt claims that it rejuvenated this project from possibility of collapse and another foreign acquisition.

It is really sad that such an well deserved milestone and persistence of A/C developers/testers is being reduced to political posturing for Made in India.

FOC is being granted to do Make in India propaganda during elections to dilute Rafale effect.

If Govt was genuine they would have signed 83MKIA Contract.

Both IOC & FOC contracts were signed by Congress Govt. Modi Govt has given ZERO contracts for LCA to HAL.

Do you understand the meaning of orders? Or are you simply interested in blabbering? Mk1A is not ready yet and its design has not been finalised. Even the specifications is unclear as it is not fully known what items will be there and what won't be there as it needs to be first tried out.

How can anyone order things which doesn't exist?

LCA Tejas Set For Final Induction : Defence Research Body

The indigenously developed and built Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas is on final induction after going all the tests, said a top official on Monday.

"LCA Tejas and Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEW&CS) are on final induction after going through all the tests," said DRDO Chairman G Satheesh Reddy in a radio interview.

Celebrating the "DRDO Day", Mr Reddy told state-run All India Radio (AIR) that the state-run Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) was set up 60 years ago in 1958 with 10 labs to enhance research work in the defence sector.

"Though the country is self-reliant in missiles, radars, Sonars, torpedoes and other systems, the DRDO has been working over the years to develop state-of-the-art weapon system for the armed forces," said Reddy.

Designed and developed by DRDO's Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and built by the state-run defence aerospace major Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), Tejas is a supersonic fourth generation fighter for induction in the Indian Air Force (IAF) fleet and its variant in the Indian Navy.

Pending Final Operational Clearance (FOC) for its weaponised version, the IAF formed the first Tejas unit - No. 45 Squadron IAF "Flying Daggers" -- on July 1, 2016 with two aircraft.

The DRDO is building six next generation AEW&CS on the Airbus platform to enhance surveillance and detection with longer range and complete view for the IAF.

The platform will have 300-km-long range and 360-degree angle of coverage as against 200-km range and 240-degree angle of the AEW&CS the DRDO built on the Brazilian Embraer-145 modified jet for the IAF in the past.

Over the years, the state-run organisation grew multi-directionally in terms of subject disciplines, number of laboratories, achievements and stature.

"Presently, over 50 labs are engaged in developing defence technologies covering aeronautics, armaments, electronics, combat vehicles, engineering systems, instrumentation, missiles, advanced computing and simulation," said DRDO in its web site.

With about 5,000 scientists and 25,000 supporting staff, the behemoth has executed major projects to develop missiles, armaments, LCAs, radars and electronic warfare systems.

Parrikar hold 83 meetings to bring the program on track. LCA Tejas MK1 + is the outcome of Parrikar's effort. Had parrikar not been there, Tejas would have ended with just 40 planes and closure of the program.

The BJP has every right to use it for 'propaganda'. Their Manohar Parrikar had worked tirelessly to bring LCA program on track from the deathbed.

Without efforts of BJP led government, IAF would have neither got Tejas nor Rafale in its squadron. Both were struggling to make any headway when Papu's party was in power. IAF would have continued to helplessly witness dwindling strength only.

-----------------------------------

Besides, the actual reason for "Rafale effect" is the promise Pappu made to Chinese during Doklam standoff in return of obvious favours. Chinese are desperate for all the obvious reasons to at least know the number of Meteors India has purchased with 36 Rafales. That is why so much cry for price disclosure. Mango Men can't get the idea.

New Delhi, July 10: Congress on Monday did another U-turn on party Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s meeting with China Ambassador to India Lou Zhaohui. After party’s initial denial of reports of the meeting, Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, later in the day, confirmed the meeting between Rahul Gandhi and Chinese ambassador to India Lou Zhaohui.

Amidst Doklam Standoff Pappu went to Chinese to find if Chinese have a suitable Mandbuddhi for him to marry.

The only other IAF fighter I knew with Gun problems is Gnat.

Maybe Tejas might earn some reputation too.
Just wait for inflight test. There will be more worms coming out. I hope they dont have to abandon the idea of gun.

Is it just a potshot statement coming from a pessimist.

Or someone with inner connection of HAL, desperately trying to cover those worms which will soon come out as IAF starts testing the FOC variant.

Or do you belong to the group who just read Tejas bashing articles and believe what ever our DPSU is pure crap and better to buy off the shelf from bullets to bandages!!??

Just curious to know what kind of a person you're
