Did IAF piss on LCA? The initial 20 LCA MK1 was ordered in 2006 and not 1 was delivered till 2014. This was MK1 with imported engine, radar, ejection seat and avionics. Can such a delay be explained by throwing the ball at IAF?
Yeah, blaming the IAF alone is not correct. But you've to admit, they've made some really bad moves. IAF top brass is divided on the Tejas. Some support it. Others hate it.

But that aside. The HushKit article made one good point on 5th gen aircraft: No need to operate any of 'em. Given how expensive the tech is proving to be and just how elusive it seems to be for anyone to achieve true LRO apart from the US.

When the technology matures, it is more easy to operate, given stealth aircrafts, stealth coatings are major issue, as they aren't resistant enough, and cost big, rest avionics and electronics are quite mature.

Whether or not IAF "pissed on LCA", i don't know. But following is what it sure did. Gives a hint

Contemporaries of Tejas

AIDC F-CK-1 Ching-kuo's Empty weight: 6500 Kgs

Gripen C/D's Empty weight: 6800 Kgs

F/A-50 GE's Empty weight 6470 Kgs

FC-1's Empty weight 6586 Kgs

Note: Tejas has a far chubbier fuselage than it's contemporaries.

Empty weights of Contemporary AJTs and CATs.

BAE HAWK 128: 4480 kgs

Hongdu L-15 Falcon: 6500 kgs

YAK-130 : 4600 kgs

Somehow Tejas shall weigh as low as 5500kgs and less?

Wing Co.(retd) Uni Pillai had rightly said "Users should avoid preparing QRs based on best features seen on different platforms".

Tejas FB confirmed the envelope for MK1A - 15Km ceiling, 24deg AoA and certified for 8G loads
source ...brf
...........................
These are already achieved in Mk1 itself even before it gets FOC. What is new in MK1A? I think AOA should increase to 26* by then. G load should touch 8.5 atleast. With low wing loading aircraft like Tejas, service ceiling of 15 km is too conservative. For MK2 it is estimated to be 18 km.

Here DRDO and HAL are proving themselves correct about "small piecemeal order" theory, that they were not reason behind for the delay of ongoing numerous projects but Indian Arms Forces. Long seeded narratives, like 'Force have no faith in DRDO or HAL' is actually turned out to be 'DRDO has no faith in Our Arms Forces'. Nowadays Government agencies working in great speed on the contrary Indian Navy destroyed brand new INS Arihant and other ship, same goes to Air force,

LSP 4 had came very fast after its predecessor. SP 9 broke its record I think. Is there anything new in SP8 or in SP 9 or just the replica of previous SPs?

That's 2 SP in the month of March. And you getting this rate when there is confirmed orders for only 40 Tejas.

Where are critiques?
Don't ask for them, none of them would have any sane discussion.

If I am not wrong, some of'em would say than IAF had given order of 20 IOC Mk1 LCA in 2006 even after 12 yes, not even half of the order is delivered......

They know what LCA had gone through, how it all happened, but..................

Well, let's just say that they are crtiques and ignoring them is good for health.

Tejas has been tortured enough with an ASQR which was prepared with what purpose in mind I don't comment on.

The ASQR has been the main source of delay in Tejas. That besides many vested interests working day and night at delaying Tejas to the point of cancellation. But kudos to people who never gave up. They sure delayed the project but with the determination of not having a single crash.

Technological challenges had their own share in the play. Which are obvious considering the gap between Marut and Tejas leading to Brain Drain and loss of infrastructure.

Now that HAL is churning Tejas at increasing rates and Modi led GOI backing entire project by first cancelling SEF and IAF giving the commitment for 201 Mk-2 in written. The project is getting to phase often referred to as the stage of maturity.

Why? What did you say?

I had sent them a DM and I quote "
Sir , one question
Can I know Tejas's maximum ferry range only on internal fuel?""

No replies.

And then I had commented on one of their posts saying something like (dont remember exactly) .. "I asked to know the maximum range of the Tejas on internal fuel, and no one bothered replying"

This was a while ago. I go back to the page now and I dont know when they blocked me.

The Bird I have been researching and supporting for years decides to block me thanks to some rogue admins on the loose. Doesn feel good.
