‘Tejas’ to prove its mettle with 8 ‘G’ maneuvers during Aero India 2017 Published February 11, 2017 SOURCE: DECCAN CHRONICLE.

Tejas’ to prove its mettle with 8 ‘G’ maneuvers during Aero India 2017 Published February 11, 2017 SOURCE: DECCAN CHRONICLE. Made-in-India ‘Tejas’ fighter jet will demonstrate its combat-readiness with the challenging and risky 8 “G” maneuver during Aero India 2017 commencing on February 14.This will be the first demonstration of this maneuver after the fighter jets joined the IAF fleet as the new “Flying Daggers’ 45” squadron in July 2016. Such a tight climb and turn are executed by fighter jets during combat, soon after firing an air-to-air missile. The 8 “G” maneuver was one of the key operations mandated by the IAF for Final Operational Clearance (FOC) of ‘Tejas.’ The other key operation, air-to-air refueling too has been demonstrated, and a combat jet with the refueling probe, will debut at the air show, according to sources in Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA).

During #AeroIndia2019 (next show) #Tejas will fly with Kaveri engine. PV1 will be revived with changes in rear fuselage, says @DRDO_India

Now would be a good time to dig up a list all defence analyst and journos who said Kaveri is dead, so that next time we don't take what they write seriously(atleast on Kaveri).

Aero India 2017: Tejas PV5, PV6 for customer flights

Bengaluru: With an eye to export Tejas fighters to friendly nations, two platforms from the Tejas test line will be available for customer evaluation flights during the upcoming Aero India 2017.

Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) Chief Cmde C D Balaji (Retd) told media on Saturday that PV5 and PV6 (both trainers) will be exclusively available for customer evaluation flights.

In addition to Tejas Test pilots from ADA-HAL, No 45 Squadron pilots of IAF, Tejas has been so far flown by Air Force chief of Turkmenistan. Senior IAF officials too have flown in the aircraft.

He said the Tejas PV-1 fitted with Kaveri engine will be flying by Aero India 2019. “We are reviving PV-1 to accommodate the Kaveri engine with some changes to the rear fuselage,” he said.

To a specific query on LCA Navy’s status, post comments being made by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba in last December, Balaji said: “The CNS was citing overweight issues of LCA-Navy MK1. We always knew the plane was overweight, but this was only a technology demonstrator. But, Navy is keen on Mk2 variant.”

He said the arrested recovery landing tests of NLCA will be undertaken later this year at the Shore Based Test Facility in Goa.

Boom boom, gracefully decimates all those that had jumped on the "N-LCA failure" bandwagon. As all sensible minds have said- the N-LCA Mk.1 was NEVER intended for the IN, it is only a tech demonstrator and the devlopment continues.
