Well Anlog systems are not bad. I wonder, how difficult would be to look at LCD's when direct sunlight is falling on them. Sure they would be great during night.
Nope, Sunlight should not be a problem.. with their Helmets.

Yes, the MKI still retains a number of dials (analogue systems), while LCA relies pretty much entirely on digital equipment. A proper "glass cockpit".
Yes, it's all glass cockpit.. But lots of improvement required in coming versions. Just see how well JF 17, Gripen etc are compared to Tejas.

But this should not to difficult for HAL as private companies Samuel etc are also there.

Fundamentally, there is nothing in JF17 cockpit that's not present in Tejas cockpit. If you think the JF displays look more aesthetically appealing...there's nothing I can say to that. The point is to function, not look a certain way.

Tejas Mk-2 should have a better cockpit anyway. Last I heard, we're still interested in the Elbit Cockpit-NG setup.

Now Compare this new Tejas cockpit with Cockpit of Big Daddy (Below) after upgrade by Samtel.. Lots of Dials/Clocks on Su30 cockpit but Tejas has all MFDs !!

But JF17 Cockpit seems quite Advanced.. We must improve on this in Next series of Tejas Mk1A OR MK2.

Those small standalone displays are part of what ADA calls 'get-you-home' panels. You can clearly see duplication of 'Artificial Horizon' on standalone and larger MFDs. Combination on right is repeating engine information.

Only thing which is giving you so called advance look in JF-17 is larger displays. If you get rid of those small displays you get the room for larger displays in Tejas as well. But then what if those larger displays fails? Doesn't 'get-you-home' panels makes sense over fancy displays. But if people think increased reliability has dispensed with the need for standone displays then ADA should go for single 44 x 18 HALBIT displays that they are developing for AMCA. It should be ready for Mk-2. But anyway they are doing this in MK-2.

Look at the picture of MK2. Elevated cockpit is the main design change to make tejas more aerodynamic.

There is nothing new about the EW suite for LCA. Components of it have been lying ready for quite some time or are readily importable.

The only reason it was not present in LCA Mk-1 was because of space constraints. Then off course the interlinked nature of space utilization not being understood by the user and them coming up with ever newer requirements for a platform that they decided should be small, made sure that Mk-1 never had the EW suite.

Today the user wishes to junk the Mk-2 which should be able to correct the problems and wishes to rely in the jury rigging of Mk-1 by a company that has failed to get the IJT right. Probably both deserve each other. :p

Left enough clues as which aircraft it is for every one of the following, including credits wherever found:

Admiral Arun Prakash's piece expresses the gravity of Air force's situation and him being a top man of the profession, Govt needs to be all ears. If HAL would have been something like ISRO, a small focussed organization, then things would have been different. But right now HAL is not that.

Govt. must formulate policies and involve private sector in partnership with HAL to roll out Tejas mk1As(once they are ready to roll) as quickly as possible.

There is Tejas mk 2 Navy/AF, AMCA and FGFA. The private sector company or a consortium of companies can be identified and enabled for all these programs.

HAL clearly cannot handle so much on its plate and we need a second option in the country to rely on even before we can think of imports.
