I threw exact number in only one post that too while agreeing with Agan's speculation.nrj the report you posted doesn't conclude the numbers (if i missed some concrete number please correct me) so i request you to stop throwin the numbers which you conclude as your personal opinion.
ok leave it Well Just curious when NLCA was conceived as front line fighter for navy. I think it was always considered as complimentary to MiG29KI threw exact number in only one post that too while agreeing with Agan's speculation.
All I'm trying to tell here from last many post is "NLCA won't be frontline fighter on any of the IN carriers." It is a logical to understand this from the various reports.
It is my observation & thus I am connoting while understanding the meaning "between the lines".
Feel free to disagree with my conclusion.
Let me clear of the speculation that my number created. I got this number from a reliable source. NLCA final shape (not abt PV-5) will take atleast 4 years to get finalised and the product will be evolved over the time. but NLCA is very limited number when compared to the LCA. Navy may go in large number for the NGFA for sure. NLCA will be a replacement for the sea harriersok leave it Well Just curious when NLCA was conceived as front line fighter for navy. The LCA is constructed of aluminium-lithium alloys, carbon-fibre composites (C-FC), and titanium-alloy steels. The Tejas employs C-FC materials for up to 45% of its airframe by weight, including in the fuselage (doors and skins), wings (skin, spars and ribs), elevons, tailfin, rudder, air brakes and landing gear doors. Composites are used to make an aircraft both lighter and stronger at the same time compared to an all-metal design, and the LCA's percentage employment of C-FCs is one of the highest among contemporary aircraft of its class.i heard that lca is made of different composite of materials which reduces its weight soo much...
in what way the weight of a fighter important in war field ?
With due respect I disagree you because according to my knowlegde till now, sea-harriers were the main combat naval jets of the IN the NLAC`s are ordered to replace the aging sea harrier. So it is clear that NLAC are going to be the the main frontline fighters. Reason is simple, they`r the main replacement of sea harriers, they are extensively better than the mig-29`s and above all of them...they are Indiginous. Look, having an indiginous weapon always makes a big difference than the puchased ones because of the numbers built, quality control, friendly handing and also of its "lightweight" factor. And in the case of the NLAC`s, the mig-29 are no match before it and this is a fact. The upcoming years will conform that.I threw exact number in only one post that too while agreeing with Agan's speculation.

well just to add in , NLCA can actuality take of with full load on the Vikramaditya , as opposed tot he MIg-29 .I think my previous post can help in the NLCA & frontline issue...
Now i would want you to please elaborate that how Mig-29K is "no match" for NLCA?
yes it is made up of what is broadly called as - "carbon composites".i heard that lca is made of different composite of materials which reduces its weight soo much...

may be we suffer from pride factor!!can i know then whats the problem for our people/politicians to defend the hard work of our scientists.
pakistan has very shallow depth in terms physical geography (if you look at their map) and hence LCA will be able to go much deeper to strike. with IFR, range is taken care. however as to china it won't be able to go deep and will remain close to our borders. this is because china has vast geographical depth and a 2 men crew in a heavy fighter like SU 30 MKI will do a better job. read about the 2 men crew advantage which has been explained by different people in the SU 30MKI thread.can i know wether lca have capabilities to strike in china/pakistan (when needed) as its a different terrain and do it have all terrain/climate feautures
http://www.lca-tejas.org/Lca-Tejas has completed 1267 Test flights ( TD1-233 TD2-305 PV1-236 PV2-129 PV3-190 LSP1-54 LSP2-11 PV5-1)
lca-tejas.org is not the official site for LCA. it is here http://www.ada.gov.in/why no mention of LSP 3?
