T. Suvarna Raju, Director (Design & Development) of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd speaking to media spilled the beans that ongoing Collaboration with Israel to develop Improved AESA radar based on ELTA’s developed LM-2052 – Active Electronic Scan Array Airborne Fire Control Radar will also be used on fighter jets of Indian Air force.

Improved EL/M-2052 active electronically scanned array radar will be used on Tejas MK-1A aircraft and will also be used in IAF’s Jaguar Darin III upgraded jets.

T. Suvarna Raju also hinted that IAF’s Mirage-2000 fleet might be upgraded with new fire control Aesa radar and currently talks are been held with IAF to use new radar possibly on other jets too.

ELM-2052 is an advanced Fire Control Radar (FCR) designed for air-to-air superiority and strike missions, based on fully solid-state Active Electronically Scanning Array (AESA) technology, enabling the radar to achieve long detection ranges, high mission reliability, and multi-target tracking capabilities.

The modular design weighs 130-180kg (286-397lb) and consumes 4-10kVA, depending on the design configuration, and has built-in growth potential. Radar can detect and track up to 64 airborne targets from long range, and enable a pilot to engage several simultaneously using air-to-air missiles, IAI says. The sensor can also provide long-range target detection, classification, and tracking in the anti-ship role.

only one question why isnt IAF using all means at its disposal to reinvent the variuos possibillities in tejas platform by sharing there concerns and usage data & R&D inputs with HAL actively like what USAF does with all aerospace industries in USA or for that matter french air force with dassualt and so on

What does 8'g' mean?

"g" is a measure of Accelleration. When accelleration is applied ion mass it becomes force. "g" specifically measures the accelleration caused by the gravitation of earth. its value is 9.8 m/Second^2. When the pilot of tejas pulled 8 g+, this simply mean that he turned the aircraft with such a speed that change in velocity felt was 9.8m/Sec^2*8 which is around 80 m/sec^2 or a bit more. This simply mean that the weight of an object on plane shall felt 8 times higher that what it is felt in stationary position.

Is is your guising or is there any news about the same.? Certainly this aircraft seems much more promising than what we had thought of. Now we can think of something similar to gripen in a decade.

I was perusing through this article from the Times of India and was shocked to read that "Development of Tejas MARK-II, with more powerful engines, scrapped". Is this true?

All things reported on TOI by rajat pandit led gang is patently false and I can give a guarantee on that.

I personally asked him some uncomfortable questions about the kind BS he and his team were printing on TEjas & arjun , giving links to DFI pages were I blasted his stupidity, with the twitter handle @ersakthivel1 , He remains quite like rahul is doing on UK citizenship!!!

And the rump that prints fake stuff on tejas like manu pubby, rajat pandit & rahul bedi have no knowledge abt defence tech, they just print some BS quoting "unnamed" IAF officers and keep deathly silence, when each and every fake claim of theirs were busted latter by ADA.

Their most cardinal rule of thump on tejas is "NEVER INTERVIEW ANY KNOWLEDGEABLE SOURCE IN ADA &CVRDE " abt tejas and Arjun. May they fear few shoe strikes if they enter their campus!!!

I am a reader of this forum for a long time. I am a fan of your post. I remembered you a lot when Tejas pulled 8+ g. You had been saying that for a long in discussion that when the flight envelop is opened and Tejas would pull 8g, the tight turn timing shall improve. There is a news in Bharat rakshak that some member show Tejas doing Horizontal looping in 20 Second or less and vertical looping in 18 Seconds. He saw Tejas performing double spin. in short , now tejas matches all the world best aircraft in all possible combat maneuvers except super maneuver of Sukhois. AOA was touched 26* a long back . This means a certification of 24* AOA.
