a few questions from a ignorant layman...

in this case will the LSP fly all the way to baharain with stopover where required or inflight refueling?..

also when left overnight at the disppay area is there indian defense forces security posted with the aircraft to guard against tampering or pilfering of technology?. or we leave it to the bahrani security forces?. .whats the protocols here?

"It's going to be a great effort. Around 200-250 engineers, scientists and ground support teams will have to be positioned at various bases. Tejas will have to be first ferried to an IAF base on Indian border. For re-fuelling and other checks, a country in the Gulf (enroute Bahrain) needs to be identified. A large number of team will also have to be positioned at Bahrain as well," says an official.

I think what they will do is this:

Mumbai - Muscat - Bahrain

Mumbai to Muscat can be done using drop tanks. The Distance from Mumbai to Muscat is still slightly more than LCA's range with drop tanks. Perhaps using larger drop tanks will solve the challenge. If this does not work, then in-flight refueling can be used.

If nothing works, it will have to be loaded onto a ship and transported.

It is confirmed that these 3 are flying, they are practicing their flying routines daily at hal airport, One will be on flying routine, one for spare & one will be static display.

It is said that it needs 3 refueling to reach Banglore-Bahrain it is not yet known whether it would be IFR or Stopover.

Other good new is that they are not postponing the tests for the airshow but they are taking this airshow very prestigously.

With no heads rolling for failures this glacial pace will continue.
Well it was expected. The so called production facility was never fully complete, and may not be complete even today. SP1 was produced in the same manner as the prototypes.

I have said on this forum last year and earlier this year that resistance to Tejas is not only from IAF but also from HAL. HAL loves license production. Engineers spend long time abroad, and there may be other unseen benefits.

I was posting from garg_india account earlier.

If IAF has to get India made planes with good quality, then HAL will have to be sidelined. Else there is no hope.

@garg_bharat if HAL is sidelined surely you dot expect HAL to gove it up and offer it to Reliance or L& T or TATA..its a cash cow for them handed on a platter otherwise.

its Upto the GOI to whip the stick at HAL and stick them in place. i am sure HAL will manage to chnage their attitiude then

In the above vid Tejas seems to be doing low speed pass at a higher alpha than usual.

In this video it shows agressive turning and roll rate
Yes its high AOA, low speed pass is not seen before in any aeroindia. We will have to wait till bahrain airshow to see the agility of tejas.
