Do we have GE-404 engines in number , is the production line still active ?? or is the on order

@ersakthivel & @PaliwalWarrior can you guys shed some light
i beleive Ge404 will be available if we place the order soon enough

i think there were some 99 ordered enough to build a few sqds with spares

even if we dont havw so many on order or on hand even then if we place orders now those will be delivered well in time when we increase the rate of production
(24-36 months )

Another lca bashing article. If they like mmrca so much why don't they get cheaper upgraded mig 29?
Some parts of media is so bad to lca. It is projected as some 30 year old tech. What do u think about this?

That doesn't look like a LCA bashing defense news rather a Modi bashing political news. These reporters do not understand that LCA is not a replacement for MMRCA, but MIG-21s, and it can be used as a squadron-gap fillers until we finalize/induct MMRCA.

LCA strike variant with reasonable payload should be developed to compliment Jaguar & Mig-27 or replace few older blocks:hail:

The sheer number and vehemence of anti-LCA articles almost makes me wish for more state media. Also, a good case against more foreign owned media - which will only serve their masters as all US networks owned by defense contractors did in the lead up to Iraq invasion.

Upgraded Tejas Mk1A will be more user-friendly

The official confirmed that the LCA MK1A would be an improved product with better maintainability to make it more user-friendly. “We are planning MK1As with enhanced survivability embedded with an integrated EW suite, which would give an improved sensor performance over Mk1s....

So will it have Internal EW Suite. ????????

hehe

geetting too greedy are we ?
No mate not greedy . impatient even ppl I know who care two hoots about our aerospace industry and defence in general are questioning the delay in Tejas induction. Coupled with constant hitjobs from media outlets its becoming quite a task at convincing ppl d necessity of indigenous military for our long term security.

IAF behaving like a spoiled rich brat is making matters more worse, with peace meal orders like d present one. They sure are playing a dangerous game with our security. They need Billions and billions of dollars for importing, whereas dey collude with Import lobbyists, academics, MSM to propagate d theory dat import is a best viable alternative to indigenous hardware. navy has a design bureau and I doubt whether air force has one, synergy is lacking and IAF shud be blamed for this not DRDO.... And one last thing remove d bloody reservation BS from defence PSU's

IAF has clearly been told there is only so much money and all of that cant be spent on single item - The Rafale - so get moving

india is always called the Elephant

when elephant moves dogs bark

the elepant has begun to move what you see is dogs barking ( concerted hit jobs on LCA)

what HAL ADA is doing is just the right thing - keeping silent - for them this is the time to listen & keep quiet

Let them bark it is thier time to bark

their time will come to speak, to give beffitting reply - Karara JAwab - not by words - BUt BY ACTIONS - which is some 1 year away

and that they will give

this is just the beginning

just think of what will happen when Def Min does a LCA redux on Arjun

The new trend among import lobby journos is to mix both anti modi and anti tejas slang into one bundle. According to them both are obsolete and dated .

But truth is the other way around.

Because Modi has killed the chance of another multi billion dollar new acquisition by putting IAF on course to tejas mk1A.

And rafale deal now moves to sidelines and may be queitly dropped if the french dont relax their tough negotiating stand , it is a quite warning for them as well,

Because the urgency of replacing the 300 odd dated migs is now squarely laid on the shoulders of tejas production line.

Also if modi-putin duo firms up anything on FGFA the relative importance of rafale decrease even further, which is very hard to digest for MMRCA backers both in and out of IAF and import lobby journos.

Correct me if im wrong, but IAF has already placed an order for 20 Tejas mk1 (under IOC config), and had promised a follow on order of another 20 Tejas mk1(FOC config).
The first 20 Tejas order is already placed and no changes will be made to that. All 20 can be expected to be delivered by 2017.(Sp-01 - Sp-20)
The 120 Tejas mk1A they are talking about is a replacement order for another 20 Tejas mk1(FOC config) which is expected to start delivery from 2017.
So a total of 140 Tejas? (20 Tejas mk1 and 120 Tejas mk1A)?
The first 20,along with the 8 LSP models, would surely be used for pilot training, and later could be upgraded to Mk1A standards.
Can someone confirm this?

If I goes by news and understanding, we are going to have:
20 Tejas mk1 - IOC
20 Tejas mk1 - FOC
120 Tejas mk1 - Mk1A : Orders will be placed if ADA/HAL can make promised improvements.
