Can you link up the exact tweet here. Till last night I had seen nothing from Saurav Jha on this. May be a really old tweet.

This is a great development if DRDO is doing this. LCA Mk-P1 too can benefit from this. If they are going the whole hog on this radome thing then this could one big step with multiple benefits down the line.

Very Approximate basis = 6600 empty + 2500 internal fuel + 1200 * 2 external fuel + 1000*2 LGB + 100*2 AAM

Problem is I don't feel confident calling those 1000 kg LGBs. Feels more like 500 kg ones.

They are late to declare that it was already made public that FOC will take place next year only.

Earlier it was December then they said definitely in this fiscal and that meant till end March 2016 and now they say delayed till next year.

Based on experience do we take it as December 2016????

Yes, thats true. Because PAF doesn't have options, hence no foreign company is offering their top brass anything, not even a holiday package anywhere. Our top brass has plenty of such offers...

"SP-1 and SP-2 had been under partial (concurrent) build since around 2010. They were used for building up the production assembly infrastructure. It was only after Dec 2013 (i.e. IOC-2) that SP-1/2 could be finally completed. SP-1 and 2 were reworked and rebuilt to bring them close to IOC-2 standards. However, there are still differences in the build since not all parts that were done prior to the final standards were rebuilt. SP-3 onwards will adhere to the full IOC-2 specs.
