FOC on Dec 2015 or March 2016 is not going to make any difference as first 20 tejas will be in IOC configuration and HAL will take their own time delivering it.Its not okay but we cannot control it.
Its just preparing yourself upfront for the delay that's gonna happen.
Delay is not due to being stuck with something technical but with unavailability of few products hence there is gonna be no learning during this new delayed tenure you ready to accept.
I believed that IAF has requested all Tejas As FOC standard.FOC on Dec 2015 or March 2016 is not going to make any difference as first 20 tejas will be in IOC configuration and HAL will take their own time delivering it.
Delay is never welcomed. But how can we squarly blame DRDO when Cobham is failing to deliver Quartz nose cone.I believed that IAF has requested all Tejas As FOC standard.
Even if that's not the case Shifting FOC deadline with three month has an impact on other ongoing projects where the skill and manpower being used in Tejas MK1 is required which will lead to delays in other ongoing projects as well.
At top of it If you have set a guideline meet it at any cost.
This shifting deadlines adds to "Chalta Hai" Attitude if you have committed it then you must deliver it.
yes we can blame them.Delay is never welcomed. But how can we squarly blame DRDO when Cobham is failing to deliver Quartz nose cone.
DRDO & ADA are working on Fighter and considering advance technology involved in these things.. 3 month delay is accepted. F35 is also delayed !!yes we can blame them.
There is something that we call planning and scheduling.
Quartz nose cone is such an important component they must have kept the Cobham on there toes and actively tracked it.
They must have kept a buffer if they were not willing to take any pain.
Note : If they had felt 1 year buffer was good then they should have given 2 years instead.
So yes I can blame ...
Not really DRDO but ADA they are the responsible body.
I know its not that simple and do trust me as I have actually met few deadlines for an a/c its not that difficult as well to stick to you deadlines.DRDO & ADA are working on Fighter and considering advance technology involved in these things.. 3 month delay is accepted. F35 is also delayed !!
Focus should be on Production Lines and making them in number. If they work properly, they can even recover these 3 months delay in production.
Yes, we all are waiting for Tejas since long long time.. And we will get it.I know its not that simple and do trust me as I have actually met few deadlines for an a/c its not that difficult as well to stick to you deadlines.
The deadlines are usually set by tech arch who are very well experienced and know in and out of everything .
remember FOC is not being postponed for the first time.
On the contrary its yet not official postponed they might postpone it .
I am only saying I will not be happy with such an action that's all I am saying.
why not.. i think it will take 3-4 yrs before it can clear all tests and ready for production by 21-22. In these 3-4 years we can produce MK1.5s so that production can continue.Subramanyam says we will see first prototype of LCA Mk-2 in 2018. if this is the case.I genuinely doubt that LCA MK1.5 is going to see light of the day.
I do agree till some extent.....ButSubramanyam says we will see first prototype of LCA Mk-2 in 2018. if this is the case.I genuinely doubt that LCA MK1.5 is going to see light of the day.
The combat radius of tejas in IOC-2 was about 500 Kms.what is the combat radius of tejas Mk-1&2
Saab Gripen has more combat radius(800km) than tejas.
I would like to know both planes are almost same in dimensions then why gripen has more combat radius?
gave the confidence to the government that it is a doable project and we will deliver it on time.
Somewhere i read ge 404 production has been closed down. If so we can't add mk1. 5, instead update mk1 to mk1. 5I do agree till some extent.....But
If HAL keep there word then 40 Tejas MK1 can be delivered to IAF by 2019 .
If ADA works well then Tejas MK2 will fly in 2018 but it will take 3-4 more years to enter production by 2021 hence there is a gap of three years when we can build as many as possible Tejas MK1P.
