There should not be any clash as there is nothing to debate about it ..

Said an NFTC test pilot ( Group Captain Suneet Krishna, Group Captain K.K. Venugopal and Commodore Jaideep Avinash Maolankar, and other ) during the IOC ceremony on December 20: "As a multi-role fighter, the Tejas is at least the equal of the IAF's upgraded Mirage-2000. It can more than hold its own in our operational scenario."

currently no one in the World will openly say what's their Fighters RCS .So the Tejas too Mirage too

Better Avionics and Better EW Suite

wasn't the Avionics comes from Israel ..But don't know how credible this one is @p2prada

upgraded mirage-200 will have three times as much clean config RCS than even tejas mk-1 lets leave tejas mk-2 alone in clean config.

upgraded mirage-2000 will have lower TWR than even tejas mk-1(if we take the globally accepted half fuel+two WVR missiles+empty weight as standard) way inferior to tejas mk-2. it certainly cant hold its own against tejas mk-2

upgraded mirage-2000 will have higher wing loading than both tejas mk-1 and mk-2.
Broadsword: December 2013

Broadsword: The Tejas fighter's role in war

Although it is one of the world's lightest fighters, the Tejas' weapons load of 3,500 kg compares well with most IAF fighters, including the Mirage-2000, Jaguar, upgraded MiG-27 and the MiG-21. Depending on the mission --- strike, photoreconnaissance, or air defence --- its eight hard points can carry missiles, bombs, fuel drop tanks or a targeting pod. It can bomb targets and fire missiles as accurately as the Sukhoi-30MKI. The latter scores mainly in its longer range and bigger weapons load, both stemming from its much larger size.

The Tejas' capability is best known to the air force and navy test pilots in the National Flight Test Centre, who have tested it in 2,400 flights. They claim it may be more versatile than the MiG-29 (primarily built for air-to-air combat); the MiG-27 and the Jaguar (both oriented to ground strike); and all variants of the MiG-21, including the multi-role BISON.

The Tejas' likely adversary, the Pakistan Air Force's F-16 fighter, has a slightly larger flight envelope, but the Tejas' superior avionics give it a combat edge over the PAF's older F-16A/Bs (currently being upgraded in Turkey); and superior to their new JF-17 Thunder light fighter, co-developed with China. Only the PAF's 18 new F-16C/D Block 52 fighters, flying since 2010-11 from Jacobabad, may be a match for the Tejas(IMHO he should have meant mk-1 now in IOC stage , as mk-2 will be superior to F-16 block C/D in combat capabilities though in range and weapon load blk C/D will have a bit extra, in asea, combo of high TWR and low wing loading mk-2 will excel. ).

Said an NFTC test pilot during the IOC ceremony on December 20: "As a multi-role fighter, the Tejas is at least the equal of the IAF's upgraded Mirage-2000. It can more than hold its own in our operational scenario."

Tejas MK 1 later be with AESA ;ohplease:

..Also MK 2 Comes in 2020 at the time Rafale Roar the Skies ..Mirage will be in CAS role in friendly territory

I will always support Indian firms If comes to Defence I Should go for Best Only

HAL >>

August 19, 2013: In what would mean two separate active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar efforts in country, it has now been learnt that HAL's Strategic Electronic Research Design Centre (SLRDC) in Hyderabad is also kickstarting a programme to build an indigenous AESA radar for airborne platforms. It is already known that the DRDO's Electronics Research and Development Establishment (LRDE) has begun attempting to develop an AESA radar.
Source : SP’s Exculsive - SP's Aviation

============================

The DRDO developed AESA radar will be of same size and volume of the present radar integrated on Tejas Mark-1. Once the work starts for the Mark-2 of Tejas aircraft, the old radar will be simply replaced by the indigenous AESA radar.
From the link below ..

1. Made & Design in India, Mass production as per wish, Modification as per need ..

2. Data fusion technology, Can be guided via another platform if needed, Mid course correction ..

3. Smokeless, Harder to detect ..

Very Good news .. :)

===============================

From the source :

Many more trials are planned and will be conducted to clear the launch envelope. Weapon integration with 'Tejas' Light Combat Aircraft will also be done in the near future."
This will be followed by launch against actual target shortly. Many more trials are planned and will be conducted to clear the launch envelope.

Its fleet wide adoption will save billions over time.

184 number means addition of all version of tejas ie mk1,naval,trainer,mk2 and naval mk2
that's why every one criticizing iaf and mod for just 6 squadrons for a class fighter like tejas

@Pulkit bro the news you quoted of clearly says that
" a written statement tabled in the
Lok Sabha on Monday, Antony's
deputy, Jitendra Singh, stated, "The
MiG-21 and MiG-27 aircrafts of the IAF
have already been upgraded and
currently equip 14 combat squadrons.
These aircraft, however, are planned
for being phased out over the next few
years and will be replaced by the LCA."
So far, the IAF has committed to
inducting only six Tejas squadrons —
two squadrons of the current Tejas
Mark I, and four squadrons of the
improved Tejas Mark II. In addition, the
navy plans to buy 40-50 Tejas for its
future aircraft carriers."

the news only states possibility and you know how our mod is , they can do anything but it will be great if they induct tejas to replace the fleet of 21 and 27 cause tejas is capable of it
