Hope this is the last delay in getting the IOC-2. We need to get on with the LCA production ASAP...

Hope that two months delay won't drag on further.
Why are they planning to ramp up the production to 16 examples per year?
IAF have given orders of only 40 examples( 20 IOC and 20 FOC)

Mk-2 will not enter production before 2017.

So, is IAF considering increasing the FOC configuration orders?

Reason may be they don't expect much delay in Tejas mk-2 IOC and FOC as most test points and sub systems of Tejas mk-1 and mk-2 barring a few are same .

So they might want to ramp up production capacity for mk-1 production and side by side production of Tejas mk-2 PVS and LSPs without any delay.

the slow production of Tejas mk-1 LSps are one of the reason for the delays in mk-1 IOC, reason may be lot of design changes according to test flight programs may need to be implemented.

but for tejas mk-2 lets hope this feed back process is not as time consuming as it is for mk-1 LSps.

16 LCA per year , as HAl is going to do shall establish the solid foundation for the LCA-2 as well with ready made production line. So every year , IAF shall receive one squadran of Tejas-1.

Now HAL need to live upto it's commitment.

I think we need two production lines, let HAL make 16 examples..

And another production line under ( TATA, MAHINDRA, L&T etc ) make another 16-20 examples..

It will be great kunal sir.. but only problem is how much time will it take for them to establish all required things?? probably if they start now, they can join production of Mk-2 so that induction will be much faster :thumb:

sir instead of two production line with private and public sector, they can share work between them to make them faster, primary reason will be that two quality standards might result from two different production line by to different sectors.

BTW we can learn lot from Rafale production line
this is old video but we should this type of production and quality standards if you want it to be economical and within the cost.

It will surely take time but is worth doing for long term also..

Inducting Tejas is not the goal but keep the production going is important for future needs and up-gradation also, we need home made aircraft industry to sustain a war for long and stand permanently on there own feet..

1. In case of war we need quick numbers equal or greater to losses..
2. In case on production line is bomb or inactive other can keep operational..
3. HAL is responsible for many different project including international once, they lack time and resource to focus on one objective alone, In war it will be more complex..

4. Numbers, Upgrades, Overhaul will be faster if there are two company involves..

Now I want to request an explanation from the journalist who had written that, it takes 2-3 days preparatory time for LCA Tejas LSPs to take to the skies again, from the time of last flight.

It is imperative that LCA MK-2 numbers also increased to at least 12 squadran to make it economically feasible for the pvt. player. The set up of production line shall require lot of investment therefore decent number order will justify the investment. If so happens, it will be great boost for defence aerospace industy & encouragement for pvt. players in our country.

Once we have this kind of set up of pvt.-public manufacturing and R & D, we can hope speedy development & induction for upgraded versions like LCA MK-3 or Stealth LCA & new ones like AMCA, UCAVs at a faster pace.

You are mistaken , if you believe them to be journalists and what they churn out as news.

may be there was a problem with a particular sub assembly in any one of the LSPs, but they blow it out of proportion to make it as a design disaster that will cripple the program.

they are the couriers of vested interests who plant stories to subvert indigenous defence programs , so that india is forced to buy more defence stuff abroad profiting their backers.

Another important benefit is it will significantly boost the export prospect for TEJAS mk-2

because many countries in the world operate thousands and thousands of MIgs and Mirages going out of production.

Tejas will be a suitable replacement for them.

I didn't believe him in the first place.
And this piece of article was put to rest by you and Kunal Biswas as soon as it appeared in this forum itself.
And I had read that as well.

But, by my previous post, what I meant was that the journalist who deliberately spread disinformation should be made to clear their stand and provide explanation about their articles as they are responsible for what they write.

Now, that there is no ambiguity over the fact what he had written is wrong, he/ she should come out and explain his stand and name and shame the so call 'well placed sources' who provided him with this piece of information ( dis-information).

well they have fasten up the pace, that is good news, but they should make sure that all the precautions should be taken before each flight, even if they have to work 24 hours a day, we cant afford to have single accident.

No matter what we cant afford to fail. So guys keep up the good work, we want FOC this year. Thereafter take LTC and see whole of India.
