No idea bro, the info isn't in public domain, and shouldn't supposed to be. Last time I checked, somebody posted an article on livefist defence website. The model was being tested for wind tunnel test, I am not sure. @Bleh and @Karthi could shed some more light to it.
EOI for components was issued by GTRE in Jan 2020. That's the last I heard abt it.
Edit: The EOI is for a 50kn class engine (presumably for Ghatak). Following the engine timelines, leads to timelines for testing Ghatak.

Does Skunkworks team still operates? They always have something in making.
While the world decides that they will start the work on next generation fighter, they already a prototype available for testing! :hail:
Probably still working discreetly. The chart below gives the time elapsed from a GO signal to the flight of the first prototype for various US aircraft developed by Lockheed Martin/Skunkworks. Amazing that Skunkworks flew the first prototype of the A-12, essentially a single seat SR-71 in 28 months after receiving approval to proceed!! Considering the elapsed times for these programs it is not surprising that a prototype of the NGAD/6th Generation Fighter has already flown. Their golden rule seems to be to get a prototype flight completed asap for each of their programs.

AI..there r others too but imo it has to be AI just like STEALTH separates 5th gen from rest gen fighters AI will separate 6th gen from others...To quote Mukesh Ambani at Reliance AGM where he launched 5g 'what human civilization has not achieved in last 40000 years It will achieve in next 80 years at d end of 21st century Because of AI revolution'..
Yeah, remote controllable with the help of AI without pilot. I guess AI's main role is safe recovery and dogfight during "link-lost" scenario.

Indian Air Force chief formally announces the development of sixth generation systems for the future

Today, history has been made.

For the first time, IAF has formally announced the development of 6th generation fighter systems during today’s Air Force Day parade a few hours ago.

IAF chief said:

For the future, we have initiated processes for developing indigenous combat systems with sixth generation technologies, including directed energy weapons, smart wingman concept, optionally manned combat platforms, swarm drones, hypersonic weapons, to name a few.

Note: this most probably does NOT refer to the AMCA Mark-2 because the chief mentioned fifth-generation project separately.

Listen from 1:13:20 onwards in this video👇

And the sad part of this story is that our dimwit news media has not noticed this yet. They are focusing on Balakot etc.

This is easily one of the biggest Indian military news of 2020. And yet our media has missed it!😭

Finally, we have one interview by onmanorama

Question: What is IAF's road map towards upcoming technologies like loyal wingman, 6G fighters with onboard DEW, UCAVs, optionally manned fighters and so on?
Answer by IAF chief: We have a clear roadmap. The planning process is already underway for combat systems like optionally manned sixth generation technologies, smart wingman concept, swarm drones, long persistent HALE (High Altitude Long Endurance) platforms and hypersonic weapons, among others.

Well, all these were already being worked upon... nothing new to make news. Plus these will go to all our 4.5th-5th gen fighters.

The only technology that cannot be incorporated into older 4-4.5 gen fighters is geometrical stealth, since it is frozen in the design aspect itself.
Otherwise, all other 5th, 6th generations technologies like sensor fusion, IRST, AESA radars, Variable cycle engines, photonic interconnects, optionally manned options etc., are all back compatible with 4-4.5th generation fighters.
