At least 47 people from minority Shia Ismaili community were killed and several others injured after eight gunmen entered their bus and opened indiscriminate fire on the passengers in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Wednesday, police said.

"Eight armed men on motorcycles opened fire on a bus at Safoora Chorangi, Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi, killing at least 41 passengers," a police official said.

The gunmen stopped the overloaded bus, entered inside it and open fire indiscriminately, the police said.

The attack came a day after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Kabul and declared that enemies of Afghanistan are also enemies of Pakistan.

Why the long face ... all these people banded together to "unite" against pagans and form "the land of the pure". Shia's Christians , ahmadis all of them. Apparently now they them selves are not pure enough :oops::oops:

Ok so things are getting back to normal in Pakistan.

I was a bit worried as nothing much was happening.

Pakis doing their own "Paki Samjhota Express" so often by killing minorities.

Motorcycle gunmen kill 43 in bus attack in Pakistan's Karachi: police

In March, suicide bombings outside two churches in Lahore killed 14 people and wounded nearly 80. Days later, a bomb after Friday prayers wounded 12 people outside a minority Bohra mosque in Karachi.

In February, 20 people were killed in an attack on a Shi'ite mosque in the northeastern city of Peshawar, and 60 were killed in a January attack on a Shi'ite mosque in the southern province of Sindh.

This is evil yindoo propaganda  I've seen many Pakis even claim that it is "unclear" that he was shia.

Meanwhile this has started

Sucks that only 15% of total muslims are Shias and actually, Shias are the "right" or "near to Islam" than Sunnis.

Pakis are pampering and crediting RAW guys even when they haven't done anything.

This is something similar when a project is successful in office and gets credit/laurels by boss and you got nothing to do with it's success. :D

RAW guys must be laughing their ass off.

Most victims shot in the head
The gunmen appeared to have been well prepared for the attack. Most of the victims were shot in the head, said Pir Muhammad Shah, senior superintendent of police for East Karachi.

Jundallah, a militant group that targets Shiites, claimed responsibility through a spokesman, Ahmad Marwat. He said four of the group's members took part in the attack, two fewer than the number given by police.

"We will continue such attacks," he warned, saying Pakistan's Shiites and the Ahmadi religious minority are the group's "main targets." Wednesday's attack was "disturbing in terms of the fact that the definition of who is a proper Muslim is shrinking as far as the extremist groups are concerned," Yusuf told CNN.

The chief of Pakistan's powerful military, Gen. Raheel Sharif, canceled a planned trip to Sri Lanka because of the violence, a military spokesman said on Twitter.

Pakistan is victim of its own lies and propaganda. PA and other politicians came out to blame RAW for situation in Karachi; Sunni terrorists came out to kill minorities ridding the same propaganda wave as the confusion will prevail in conspiracy theory ridden nation and blame will be put on RAW by usual Sunni apologists including that moron Farid Piracha.

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN)Gunmen on motorbikes attacked a bus carrying members of a religious minority in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi on Wednesday, killing 43 people and wounding 19 others, hospital officials said.

Six attackers used 9 mm pistols to shoot at the people on the bus, police said.

After the attack, the bus was driven into a hospital parking lot with bullet holes riddled all along its side, said Salma Wahid, an official at the Memon Medical Institute Hospital in Karachi.

Most of the people in the bus were unconscious and splattered with blood, she said.

Minority group targeted

The vehicle was carrying men, women and children from the Ismaili Muslim community, said Ahmed Chinoy, chairman of the Citizen Police Liaison Committee in Karachi, Pakistan's largest and most populous city.

A violent extremist group that persecutes Pakistan's Shiite Muslim minority claimed responsibility for the attack and vowed to carry out more.

Ismailism is a Shiite sect. Unlike some other Shiite groups, Ismailis hadn't been heavily targeted by militants in Pakistan previously.

"This is the first such incident of its kind towards the Ismaili community," said Zohra Yusuf, the chairman of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. "Nothing on this scale has ever been seen before."

Most victims shot in the head

The gunmen appeared to have been well-prepared for the attack.

Wednesday's attack was "disturbing in terms of the fact that the definition of who is a proper Muslim is shrinking as far as the extremist groups are concerned," Yusuf told CNN.

Twenty-six males and 17 females were killed, said Sultan Ahmad, of the Memon Medical Institute Hospital in Karachi. The youngest person to die was 16 years old, Ahmad said.

The chief of Pakistan's powerful military, Gen. Raheel Sharif, canceled a planned trip to Sri Lanka because of the violence, a military spokesman said on Twitter.

Sectarian attacks

Shiites are regularly the victims of sectarian attacks in Sunni-majority Pakistan.

A bombing in January at a Shiite mosque in the city of Shikarpur, which like Karachi is in Sindh province, killed scores of people. That attack was claimed by Jundallah.

An attack in February on a Shiite mosque in the northwestern city of Peshawar killed at least 19 people and injured dozens of others. The Pakistan Taliban claimed responsibility for those killings.

Members of the Ismaili sect are dotted throughout dozens of countries, primarily in South and Central Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Their leader is the Aga Khan, who they believe is a direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammed.

The Ismaili community in Pakistan is "mostly apolitical and keeps a low profile," said Yusuf.

CNN's Sophia Saifi reported from Islamabad, and CNN's Jethro Mullen wrote from Hong Kong. CNN's Bex Wright contributed to this report.

It is a sin to be a minority in Pakistan.

It is a greater misfortune to be a Shia and be killed by co religionists Sunnis.

Pakistanis have raw and not matured brains and so they see everything connected with raw stuff even if it means RAW.

Why does it bother people that they are blaming RAW for the attack, again?

It is infact an excellent news. They repeatedly sh!t on the most important thing they need, INTROSPECTION. So, as long as they blame every body else for their misery they are doing things exactly how we need them to.

Napoleon said ‘Never interfere with an enemy while he’s in the process of destroying himself.’

I agree

Janab... apne ekdum durust farmaya.

All we need to do is just wait and watch as Pakis destroy themselves and do Paki Samjhota Express on daily basis.

60,000+ Pakis butchered since WOT.... is WOT ne Pakis ki wot laga di....tit for tat.We could have never done that much in any war.
