i used to respect Brookings some years ago, the nomenclature of “string of pearls” came from Brookings.

but after it came out that Brookings was on the take from CCP, and looking at the online behaviour of their “India experts”, I view anything from Brookings on India with suspicion now. we donno what landmines are hidden in their policy advisories, only gyaani log can figure those out.

for ex : Trump administration was clearly not that into CAATSA for India, Brookings “India experts” were usually the ones to bring up CAATSA back into public discourse again and again. It’s like Brookings has a bigger priority than smooth relationship between India & US.
