Don't agree. Mk2 is a upgrade of Mk1-A. Mk1 & Mk1-A will serve purpose of testing all new development.. e.g Uttam is getting integrated in LSP2. So it will be an easy integration. It's similar to upgrade path of Gripen C > Gripen E.. No ??

So, this is work in progress and gradually they r improving it. Initial design may be couple of years old. I like the new one large screen display. IMHO, they should consider same for MKIs upgrade.

I think, Good to have LCA mk2 for IAF and IN separate projects as later may not be produced in numbers as per RM.

Tejas MK-2 (Air force version) will be 0.5 metre longer, will be able to carry a payload of up to 5 tons with MTOW of 16.5 tons.

It's true, couple of RFPs have been issued for Mk2 by HAL but at the moment I'm not convinced on other information like order etc mentioned by this report. What's their source of information, can't say.
