even if we decide to go for a 65000 ton carrier for iac2 and higher i think this 40000 ton vikrant's design can be modified for helicopter carrrier/amphibious assault ship some of which can be build in the next 2 decades.

i don't think we will purchase any more ac from abroad since we have a very bad expierience with admiral gorshkov deal.also once iac-1 is ready our naval shipbuilding designers will have much more expierience to design a bigger carrier.

according to chief of naval staff iac-2 may be delayed.that means it will take about 2020-2025 to arrive in the scene at the earliest and not 2017-2020 timeframe.so i think indian navy should look to 5th gen fighters eg n-fgfa and n-amca.
