Again this piece meal ordering screwing our preparedness ! Should have straight up ordered 2L Sigs, now we niether have AK103 nor Sigs in sufficient nos (who knows amreeka may not sell another batch citing Bharaths neutral stance on Ukraine war or corrupt babus dalals may keep stalling the order)

Well SiG was also meant to be given to frontline troops first. So a fair assumption that the soldiers wielding SiGs are frontline troops but still have old helmets . Don't you think ? Or is it that the pace of equipping troops with a better rifle (a sophisticated piece of machinery) is faster...

Every last weapon counts when you are fighting for your life. Easy for arm chair generals to say 'bayonets are old fashioned'. When you are down to your last bullet in your foxhole or defending a mountain top, you sure as hell would use your bayonet to make a last stand. Agreed that training...

I wish we just bite the bullet and simply go all in for SiGs for all the soldiers instead of this horrible mix of AKs for some, SiGs for some, InSAS for some etc.. horrible cluster fuck !

In a virtual military dictatorship, the least the fat ass gernails can do is look after the soldiers needs first. So I think we can give the benefit of doubt to POF !

But one would expect the troops to train with the sights ? Ideally both should have arrived at the same time. Somehow I'm not confident about the separate order for optics for sig materialising and being deployed en masse. We will again see local.commander level procurement and ad hoc deployment...

When are the effing optics for this coming ? Is it 'soon' or 'very soon' or as soon as a fat babu in MoD is bribed by a foriegn vendor like Aimpoint which cannot be afforded by Tonbo ? :mad2:

Yeah one of the members had shared a video in which ex or current US SF personnel were dissing badly on the SCAR . But HK416 being replaced is surprising, I thought it was their gold standard SF weapon. Just goes to show how they keep evolving....

Does anyone close to IA personnel (who know someone who is in the army) or our very own @Kunal Biswas know if IA intends to fit the SIG rifles with optics or not ? Did they decline to purchase it along with the rifle due to higher costs ?

Haha you failed to spot the joke I guess ! We all know how the jokers in IA purposely buy the most unequipped version of a rifle , god forbid if there was a sig with the option of no P rails I bet my bollocks they would have ordered that ! This being the case you asking for a sight to be ordered...

Dark days of UPA and Vajpayee era ! Are things better now with regards to MOD bureaucracy ? Especially since Parrikar is no more..

How does our armed forces bureaucracy work ? I am sure many soldiers and commanders would have conveyed the need for optics to the higher ups, but then why this is not being mass deployed and we only see it piecemeal here and there ? It should have been a part of the standard equipment by now...
