    How does that make a big difference as one of them is still active? I guess combining the networking part is critical in this setup but mostly in distributed operations where not every plane needs to operate in active mode like 3 to 10 ratio

    Exactly, plus single engine fighters are still useful if they are relatively cheap vs heavy fighters with twin engines as they are always useful in forward bases as interceptors.
