    Visited the 15th century Lepakshi Veerabhadra Swamy temple. Temple has history from 1424 onwards but the main inscription dates to 1531 AD. We must appreciate the efforts that would have gone into sculpting granite instead of any soft sandstone or marble in this temple. There are also paintings...

    Someshwara Temple in Ulsoor, Bangalore. Ancient temple that has seen some "renovation". Still, extremely beautiful, spacious and peaceful. It has a puja vigraha rupa of Brahma which is very rare (not the main deity though)

    Not really. Enough destruction happened in TN, AP an KN etc. One of the reasons why Hindi is considered as an aggressor language.

    One of the reasons why we have such a high bar for art is because of what our ancestors had done with stone in temples! When people say some oil painting is xyz, we have already seen some carved stone which was much more beautiful than paint.

    Bhoga Nandishwara Temple near Bangalore It really is very beautiful. Sadly, they block entry to pushkarini because of the turtles there. I presume people just can't lay their hands off those turtles. But, if you are in Bangalore, you must take half a day off to visit this temple!
