Look you, son :) Vortices are flowing from the lambda-LEX (a tooth and it's extension on the air intake top surface). Just like on F-35 from which this intake has came from :) And it's also obvious that canard on J-20 is used not as vortex control surfaces (cause it's too far from the wing to do...

Vortices are generated by lambda-LEX, not by canard here, which is clearly visible.

I don't pretend of knowing everything, I just see what I see. So if the engine on J-20 photo is really WS-10 (which is not very obvious), we see that WS-10 has slightly modified D-30F-10 ejector nozzle :) It tells us that Chinese engineers still cannot master high temperatures before turbine to...

It is obvious that J-20 airframe has been constructed for larger and heavier engine then Al-31 family or its Chinese analogues of its class. Just look at the large air intakes and large fuselage volumes including rear part. What engine it should be finally?

ORLY? ============================= :) BTW WS-10, even if it will be fully service-ready by lifetime and burning stability, will not be sufficient for J-20 in thrust, while D-30F-6 has 16500kgs wet and D-30F-10/11 has 17000kgs wet (in the price of tremendous fuel consumption of course...

I haven't mebtioned J-20 in context of 117S purchases. I've mentioned Al-31F related info. And it's a quite obvious thing that 117S will be used on T-10 platform only (if Chinese won't order lower gearbox version for J-10).

It is clearly visible that inner nozzles on photo belong to D-30F-10/11 - a MiG-31BM and S-37 Berkut power plant inside a Chinese outer nozzle cowling :)

Well, there are rumors about Chinese want to buy Al-41F-1S (117S) instead of Al-31F Series 3...

Americans flew on same Derwent and Nene engines as Russians did :) However, Russians flew German BMW 003 and Jumo 004 before. And of course all of them had pre-war jet engines prototypes but Germans and Brittish only had managed to make them perfect enough for production.

Can you read or write only? :) I said it was burn NOT from 1.42 but from its stealthified ancestor 1.46. MiG guys confirm that as well as official MiG confirms wide participation in several Chinese fighter programs starting from J-8 and J-10 including documentation sales.

It COULD be "stealthy Su-34" if it could have large MWBs (at least the size of T-50 ones), but it doesn't. It has small ones coppied from F-22A.

Exactly so. J-20 seems to be a "Chinese S-37 Berkut". Tapatalk

    J20 Stealth Fighter

J-20 looks like a POC prototypes series most of all. It's too draggy and underpowered (and too heavy) for a fighter and has too small MWBs for a striker. However, it's low altitude speed and range seem to be high due to small longtitude wing and long fuselage.

Are there any technical data or open source descriptions / reports of this SRAAM? I wonder why have they done such a wide and big stabilizing "petals" while the worlds most tendency is to reduce them in favor of gas-dynamical controls?
