The SIG 716i is perhaps the best rifle for its INTENDED purpose.

There is no evidence to support the claim that Excalibur THRASHED competition. Quite the rumors to the opposite, if anything. And manufacturing and finishing of OFB leaves a lot to be desired. Shoddy work, zero accountability and chalta hai attitude is rampant.

    INSAS Rifle, LMG & Carbine

And that is complete BULLSHIT. The only aspects of a rifle that need to be "toughened" are your firing mech and barrel. The furniture and frame can be as light as you want. These so called 15000 rounds INSAS don't exist! The problem with INSAS is OFB and its absolute garbage manufacturing...

    INSAS Rifle, LMG & Carbine

Bhai, have you handled INSASs? I have. On a regular basis throughout 2014-15. Granted I was in the navy but I have coursemates in the army who'd attest to everything I have said. Now again, the 1Cs might be absolutely amazing. But I haven't seen one in service with the three branches of the...

    INSAS Rifle, LMG & Carbine

No. I'm a former cadet of the Indian Naval Academy. I fired INSAS rifles throughout my four terms in the academy. Every instance there have been failures to properly battery the rounds, jams caused by improper ejection and other issues. Thankfully that explosion was a one off. And yeah, the...

Kunal dada ! Welcome back! I get what you're saying full auto suppressive fire backed by the heavier more lethal 7.62x39 Russki round. But my point stands and you know well that Kanpur guns are horribly made.

    INSAS Rifle, LMG & Carbine

Its not a matter of insult! Its a matter of lives. I personally have been injured when an orange furniture INSAS fucking exploded in my hands. Exploded! Do you understand what that means? Indian 5.56 bullets are hotter than standard NATO stuff. It blew off in the firing chamber. It was fucking...

    INSAS Rifle, LMG & Carbine

Stop being an ostrich. Talk to anyone, anyone, who serves in the infantry branch and you'll have your answer, Niche, my ass! That's the reason that the ones who see frontline service in Kashmir prefer Kalashnikovs. So much so that thousands have been imported.

    INSAS Rifle, LMG & Carbine

It boils down to training and skill. Regular infantry get far lesser range time then Para SF. (as is the case with all armies) and thus consume more 5.56 rounds to kill a target. The less lethal nature of the 5.56 when compared to a 7.62 (AK or NATO) or even the old Springfield 30-06 is well...

    INSAS Rifle, LMG & Carbine

This was a bullpup variant for Para SF. And given how badly made the normal INSAS 1Bs are, I can't imagine the godawful mess this must have been. It FAILED the tests against the Tavors. And thank the Gods it did, the SFs got a good gun.
