AFAIK we are getting a number of 40N6 missiles as well, majority of the 6000 missile deal however is for some 3000 unts of the 48N6E2. Initially the plan was for lower ranges to be covered by the BARAK 8ER, however that plan seems to have been stalled now so expect some lower ranged interceptors...

S400 will render 29 out of 43 major Pak airbases useless, it will provide a SAM umbrella to Indian Strike forces in the case of cold start all the way to the Indus.add to that the added protection of Akash/SOSNA and mobile SPAAG units & our Strike corps will be pretty much guarded from tac BMs...

That area will probably get a Barak 8 unit to guard he vital bridges et al, the S400 will cover the airfileds we can reach in tibet.
