Doesn't makes sense. They should keep SAAB work on its own or let them make some JV with private company. And keep HAL as PSU and divide it as separate company based on products . Like helicopters , trainer aircrafts , fighter and big passenger aircrafts. My two cents.

If they can't "determind" the life of airframe at this stage , does it make any difference in actual life of Tejas airframe...........! The moment they gonna figure it out , they will correct it again. And we all will know actual airframe life. No big deal in it.
