What's the normal FOL consumption of hummer? The newly inducted force Trax ( it's not Gurkha, it's called trax) has a mileage of 5 kmpl in a 4x4 High mode. It's is quick though and rugged. Best is it has hull mounted hooks for aerial transportation. It has a remote winch, fully rigid under...

One month at PRTC and then respective units take them in and leave them under the unit training team. 3 months is just a general assumption. It ranges anywhere between 2 to 6 months based upon the probee's skill.

Sir, SF on LST stays with RR battalions and Infantry battalions (as much as I Know). I believe we should include Mechanised Infantry and Gaurds on LOC. They do lack such an experience. Occasional Field firing is where they get happy.

One addition I want to see is a dual purpose fore grip rather than the bipod style layout. May be that can give the operator more control over the weapon with the other hand. But I don't know, it may or may not.

What's the purpose of NSG being sent to have combat experience? Almost all encounters end up with the house getting demolished with the terror shits getting blown up. What's wrong with having a force dedicatedly specialized in what NSG is? Why to fit it in a equation where it doesn't?

I never want to see NSG to be used in CI/CT. I want them to be in the place where they are now. I want them to have their time doing what they are doing right now. No need to pull another force in to this rutt. They are doing a good job.

"Imagine putting the butt under the armpit"?? Never saw something like that. I don't know on what basis some of you diss Tavor and go all gaga about AR style rifle, but understand that now we have Tavor, it's not going to go anywhere. Not for sometime. While tilting, the Tavor never bites the...

Too much for SF to be used for decades in CI/CT for giving them experience and stupid to neglect infantry and what about boosting their nerves to tolerate the buzzing sounds of real bullets.

Those kind of Ops are to be at the bottom in the list. Strategical Ops are priority. Do you know how many times infantry crossed the border and killed and captured enemy posts. SF in other places of world had many tasks way above killing terrorists. Can we employ them in Baluchistan and embedd...

Then the COs are either stupid or geniuses in their own minds. I believe they had reasons, but it doesn't mean that they won't do it. Added this part later: May be the time to plan and train was less. Remember, the demand was a quick action in limited time. I believe they were right to...

W See their history, generations of operators using the same rifle and evolving it with their experience. Even those units won't take long barrel AR to clear a house. Why do SAS still uses MP5 for a CQB? Even the French use MP5 and its variants. What we had? AK What we bought? Tavor What we...

All that gear and excitement.... I would like you to ask questions and I'd get them answered by an SF guy. May be all of those questions in a single page or post would help it. Apart from that, I'm surprised that everyone is talking about gear and training but the main challenge is mitigating...

One. Tavor is not butt heavy, may be when you hold it with one hand. But it is balanced when you take a shooting stance. Two. Slower mag change. No. An operator will always adapt to his rifle. I have seen operators changing mags on Tavor without a flinch or taking eyes off the target. Three...

Night fighting capability is a huge realm. It is applicable to a foot soldier and a tank too. A good percentage of our tanks, BMPs are night enabled the rest are being upgraded. Infantry still lacks in this case especially rifle mounted night sights. And when it comes to SF, I have seen each...

@Bleh @Waanar I get the sarcasm and please don't try it again. Doesn't suit you well. Crying on a public forum doesn't get things done. And crying everyday that we don't have this, we don't have that doesn't get things done. This thread has gone far beyond a healthy discussion. Some of the...

But those actors can't fight like we do. They'll shit when they hear bullets flying. All those who are thinking that high cuts, comm sets, knee pads and elbow pads are equipment should stop watching YouTube and movies. You guys should seriously stop judging and suggesting what to do. SF...
