It’s not just MANPADS, semi active radar guided missiles like AIM-7, R-27, IR guided Mica-IR, Sidewinder, python, ASRAAM all will not be “seen” on RWR. Against modern optronics (IRST) coupled with longer ranged IR guided missiles, RWR is useless and DC-MAWS is a must have. That is quite...

How does a heat seeking missile have any signal on RWR. Agree if it is an active radar guided missile like AMRAAM, RWR will go off in terminal phase. However, RWR should be already going off because you have a primary FCR lock.

Sounds like DRDO, the maker of D-29 is wrong about its own system not having MAWS. The author of the first article is also wrong, since you have “seen it yourself” and your expertise on the topic trumps theirs.

F-35 is cheaper to acquire and significantly cheaper to maintain compared to all 4th generation fighters. Read this: In what surely must be a hard thing for Lockheed’s competitors to read, the Swiss Federal Council says: “The F-35A also has the lowest operating costs of all of the candidates...

Lockheed is a vendor and has to say what needs to be said. Moreover, LM is not dying for orders with stellar success of F-35 and resurgent F-16. No one thinks that F-21 is going to India. It would be a nightmare to deal with clearances and never ending evaluations. It is much easier to sell...

There are no naive questions here: The IAF variant of the Chinook does not have mid-air refuelling capability and uses additional fuel tanks instead. IAF lacks air refueling capability for slower aircraft.

Which European option is cheaper than F-18? Current flyaway cost of F-18 block 3 is less than $80 million. All US weapons and sensors enjoy economies of scale and remain considerably cheaper than others. Absolutely not true. No other country allows more international integration than US. Just...
