Re: ADA LCA Tejas - IV LRDE has called out tender for liquid cooling system for AESA Project L-273 (Uttam). Last known the array was undergoing ground tests and the processors were incorporated on the flying testbed "Hack" and undergoing testing with the existing mechanical array.

And your qualifications for criticising the marshals ? Flying an office desk at mach 2 vis'-a-vis' men who actually serve and are better placed to understanding the requirements and evaluating the programs ? I'd chose the judgement of the latter. What will you do if your "new man in charge"...

Something you were unaware of after 4664 posts. I'd accept that as an expression of gratitude for correcting you. Says the person who till 1 post back thought that Tejas has the same sized array as the Rafale. Furthermore you are neglecting the output per module, in which Selex is a...

BS. Selex developed the swashplate technology for Eurofighter, an aircraft with a much larger radome dia than Tejas (Eurofighter 750mm, Tejas 650mm). Believe it or not, it combines the advantages of large FoV of a mechanical scan radar with the advantages of an electronically scanned array...

No Tejas nor Gripen will carry PESA. Tejas's AESA will come in the future, Gripen's AESA is flying today and would be retrofitted on older models with orders already placed. First Typhoon Flight With AESA Could Open Door to Exports | Defense News | defensenews.com

First you claimed Tejas has PESA now you claim Gripen will have PESA. Gripen's prototype AESA, Raven ES-05 is already flying on the Gripen NG prototype for the last five years. Not only is it an AESA, but it is a swashplate mounted AESA, the complexity of which cannot be understated. All the...

And you chose to believe those retards. In what way ? Stealth is many things. LPI radars, low emissions, low RCS, passive triangulation etc. As explained earlier composites are also radar transparent, something you are unable to comprehend. While composite skin does not reflect radar waves...

As explained earlier, as per publicly released information, no. Tejas more than matches up on self defence suites and radar, which are more due to newer vintage of the type, but Gripen maintains a significant lead for the foreseeable future in many other aspects. Apology accepted. And...

In other words you have no clue what you are talking about and didn't read what I wrote. Go back and read what has been written. Gripen has everything Tejas has and did it 16 years before Tejas. One of the most advanced data links, capability to fuse radar data with that from data links and...

Pointing out the inaccuracies in your post. Wrong. Wrong on both points. Many of the earlier avionics from Tejas ended up on Su-30Mki, the current avionics are totally different. Also, Gripen's avionics, when it entered service were considered ground breaking. Sensor fusion as on Gripen...

No. Jaguar has two refueling probe positions. Single seater Jaguar IS/IM have a retractable refueling probe that comes out at the side of the cockpit. The double seater Jaguars IB have a nose mounted refueling probe. Tejas Mk 2 will have a retractable probe. Tejas Mk 1 will have a fixed probe.

Using a single chip defeats the purpose of integrated modular architecture which will feature on Tejas Mk 2. DARE was working into incorporating several LRU's into one LRM, but the LRM would use multiple processors and not a single chip.

Do you even have any idea what MDPU is and what is it made up of?. MDPU is a name used by Dassault for the system. Indians use the term UREPs, the descriptions change by projects and manufacturer. Btw Dassault's MDPU is made largely off COTS components and is made up of 19 LRUs so it is not a...

No. What kind of MTOW do you expect off a light fighter ? F-16 has 11 hard points because it can fly off with full fuel with each of its hard point loaded to its limits. Tejas can't do that today (the difference between MTOW and clean take off weight is 3.5 to 3.8 tons while hard points are...

There are significant overlaps in HAL's and BEL's capabilities. For eg: Traditionally HAL makes IFFs, but the AEW&C will have L-Band AESA IFF embeded in the array, which will be a BEL product. Similarly P-8I carries a BEL made IFF. Currently BEL has the production rights for all EW suite...
