The british actually hired HK as consultants and ended up fixing the SA80. We didn't fix the INSAS, or atleast did not give a serious attempt at fixing it,

Shameful if true. Especially since they could have improved their existing product. The copied Arsenal UBGL provides no advantage over ARDE designed UBGL (which again was inspired from Romanian AG 40). I remember several years ago, me and Kunal Biswas STFU some polish guy on mp.net who was...

That is Arsenal M6 grenade launcher. Has OFT copied the UBGL along with the rifle or is it a license build ? There was no use for this because the ARDE/OFB grenade launcher is good enough and fits all AKMs perfectly.

Pindad license makes Fn-FNC. You are just trying to shit on OFB. They might not have a solid history but each product should be seen on merits. JVPC is seeing widespread adoption, maybe this will too.

No. Kalantak was an improved INSAS carbine and had a gas expansion chamber underneath the barrel to control the flash and recoil. The effectiveness of that was doubtful. This is a different rifle. The dust cover + receiver construction of Insas has been. replaced by the Sig 550 style...

It is hard to make out, but from other pictures of the event, one of the posters in the background indicates this is not TAR variant but rather a new 7.62x39 variant for CI. Sort of like desi Krinkov.

Sniper rifle 336 by OFB. https://www.thehitavada.com/Encyc/2020/1/19/Defence-Minister-appreciates-OFAj-for-state-of-the-art-machinery-high-standards.html The hitavada newspaper says it is sniper rifle 336. It could be a typo and it may be 338 for lapua Magnum 338 round. The magwell indicates...

The butt of the rifle in hand of ninda turtle is similar to Insas folding stock. I can't see the butt, but the rifle on bottom left corner is OFB AR2. That handguard is rather distinct. Also though the picture is grainy, but on second look, this variant of TAR appears to be short barrelled...

Another one from same event. Bottom right corner, new version of TAR with new furniture and full length 1913 rails.

Trichy AR has earned praise for it's finish and build quality.

Chattisgarh police, not Jharkhand. CG police is the first JVPC customer.

All the R-2 needs is ambidextrous safety and bolt catch release and it will be perfect. Bolt catch would require modification to the magazine follower to trip the bolt catch when the last round is fired.

There no excalibur mk-1c. Excalibur mk-1 has stamped steel receiver, insas mk-1c's is milled aluminium.

    INSAS Rifle, LMG & Carbine

This rifle is aesthetically pleasing, maybe due to flatter profile due to a milled body and an angular top receiver cover. That handguard though is filthy and I had doubts if that upper handguard will stick around once the lower handguard is removed, but it seems to be held in place by the same...

Going through the pages of this thread, I noticed this picture. I believe this is the only picture of Excalibur with Picatinny rail on top of upper receiver. More interesting is the squirrel cage type flash hider on the rifle , which is different from the regular pepperpot style flash hider on...

Perfect. Now if only it had full length picatinny rail on top like the earlier models.

^^ The tripod mounted device looks like some sort of battlefield surveillance radar (not the BEL one). THe cornershot is the originally Israeli one.

The original partnership with STK to develop a firearm in this category fell apart long back. STK came up with a similar layout gun in 9mm called CPW with a completely different action (blowback vs gas operated on msmc). JVPC/MSMC/Milaap has been 5.56x30 mm since the beginning.
