    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

Actualy, most of the times they give the enemy the best case scenario, to prepare better. And that US navy guy was just abusing rules of the game, he pretended his bicycle messenger boys and mosque azaan loudspeakers (that he was using to deliver messages in combat with EW jamming) could...

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

Thing is, knights rode around on horses, and didnt have to go on long foot patrols, or carry their own weapons and supplies.

Hmm. I doubt digital NVG will be powered with that small battery compartment, looks analog to me.

Why is NVG down during day? It will damage the phosphorus and leave black spots.

"Military grade" doesnt mean good quality It means the lowest possible quality that wont fail catastrophically :pound:. Military contracts arent won by good quality, they are won by the lowest bidder.

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

Hmmm. Difference in opinion seems to come from your/my understanding of " ballistic or quasi-ballistic trajectory ". As I understand it, Ballistic trajectory is any trajectory of an object where it is guided only by gravity - As such, the angle of launch has nothing to do with it. Direct fire...

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

The first definition wont work, MPF, MGS, BMP-1, BMP-3 etc arent artillery. AFAIK, the general difference is that artillery has to be capable of lobbing shells at higher angles for hitting entrenched troops or non-LOS targets, while tanks, tank destroyers, fire support vehicles etc will only...

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

I would guess decent number in CI/CT, since both sides are hiding behind cover and taking potshots at each other. In combat, almost all casualties come from shrapnel, so then bullet protection is not as imp for helmet. I guess thats why "modular panel" was a requirement, put on for CI/CT and...

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

As for 1), nope. Its a wrong setup. Your rifle should protude waay further. The purpose of breach stack is to have multiple guns out towards the enemy, not to use your buddy as a shield to hide behind.

Difference is mild. Penetration of 5.56 is higher, but 7.62 yaw is more reliable than 5.56 fracturing. At the end of the day, it is a safe choice. I would have preferred 5.56, but no prejudice against 7.62.

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

both are diff rounds. 5.56x45 is a rifle round, while 5.56x30 is a pistol round. However, like 5.7 nato, it is a very high velocity pistol round, so has good armour penetrating capacity vis a vis calibers like 9 mill ( but still much less than proper rifle rounds). different purpose. IMO for...

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

Do we lag behind US? Yes Do we lag behind leading European nations? Yes Do we lag behind our competitors? No. And thats all that matters. Insas - Army has also noticed, you are not the first. Ak - 203, an upgraded Ak-103 which is proven. Helmets, Plates and BPJs - Being ordered. Older...

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

Man, you two are blackpilled af. BTW, most of the issues you stated are fixed or already in process to get fixed. Things cant happen overnight, I've seen a genuine effort to mordernise since the 2020 clashes with china. Nah. The architecture doesnt allow that. 5.56x45 cant fit through grip by...

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

    1) Not match grade ammo, regular russian steel ammo. Barnaul 762 FMJ, is not match grade. 2) All guns that pass this test reach 500 yards, thats the entire test. 3) That AR had a scope - AK with scope does a lot better. 4) Spotter helps, but is not decisive until beyond 400m. Shots were close...

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

You seriously think AK accuracy is that bad? Lol. The trope of AK being inaccurate came from people using darra made guns, where "rifling" is considered an unnecessary waste of time. Have a look.

    Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

500 m is unreasonable to expect from avg infantryman without optic, just saying. But engagements happen almost exclusively in 200-300m range, so no issues.
