ok so i did some calculations estimating it's pen. I took 540mm length for main projectile. With L/D ratio of 20:1 , diameter come to be around 27mm. This tungsten alloy projectile let's say with a density of 18gm/cm3.... then will have a DOP of around 530 mm at 1.5km/s impact velocity and up...

Less L/D ratio is not a problem if impact velocity remain high. penetration will be Higher despite smaller length of projectile.

DU alloy penetrator start running out of steam after 1.6 km/s impact velocity while tungsten one peak at 2 km to 2.2 km depending on BHN value. DU rod will have higher DOP all the way to 1.6 km/s impact velocity than tungsten one while later will have higher DOP after that. so investing in DU...

if we want to achieve higher and higher DOP... than WHAs is the way to go in long run for time being. Since Higher and higher muzzle velocity will be needed to achieve desired results , so it is the end of line for DU in long run but in indian context it is more than enough.

Israeli CL 3579( Mk 2 ). DRDO 125mm mk 2 FSAPDS. Look closer to PpSv97 VETRA. DOP would be similar i think.

India should also look for DU rounds though in future as it can help achieving higher DOP Level without compromising barrel life

take paki BS with a pinch of salt. DU round work best up to 1.6 km impact velocity... for such a short penetrator , it's maximum DOP is around 550mm +/- 20mm at best.

So we will now have 600mm level DOP APFSDS for both T 72 as well as T 90. Next phase should be with new gun , new autoloader with bigger , longer projectile. 125mm MK3 FSAPDS with minimum 400mm + pen 60° at 2 km :india:

Yes if you want greater DOP , in this case 800mm. There is no way around it for APFSDS.

600mm to 800mm in phases as mentioned. as said without changing autoloader and new gun it's impossible.

They haven't modified anything. Current autoloader can not accommodate bigger rounds. you need to change whole autoloader with new gun to achieve that 800mm DOP. it is as you said , this ammo is probably 125mm MK2 APFSDS with mango M level DOP.

Without new gun and autoloader that's impossible.

It's either russian or Israeli transferred to the DRDO and the reason why contract was given to nobody like this company is because dalal's in govt and military are involved and want to make money for themselves and there foreign backers.

and where did you think DRDO get the tech from ? Russian, Israeli ? My bet is former.

No MS have been ordered its S with some tech transfer.
