Actually, GTRE started working on 110-130 KN class derivative of Kaveri a long time ago. It even had a tender (for purchasing parts) in open with the specification of said class of turbofan.

It doesn't matter if engine will be buried once it returns as long as flight testing continues to generate data for reference book. Also you need to know precisely what your short comings are before you ask some expert to sort them out.

I always wondered how long should GTRE wait to have these facilities when K-9 is making such progresses and ambitious yet promising future plans are in pipeline? Nevertheless it's great to see it coming. Wonder if GTRE is also planning to ask IAF to spare one IL-76 for converting it into a...

It doesn't matter if the thrust is 57KN(which i highly doubt) or targeted 85 KN, the K-9 is and will remain unusable for LCA because required thrust has gone up from 85 KN to 90 KN. Today it is very much clear that without expert help from outside GTRE alone can't bring K-9 to about 100KN thrust...

So 'just a journalist' is challenging spiritual significance of mighty mahamantra 'Gayatri-Mantra' because one scientist has chanted it before testing of his product! What irony is this that the science which challenges word BHAGWAN is accepting it wholeheartedly but a [stupid] journalist is...

Science & spirituality: GTRE Director chants Gayatri Mantra during Kaveri's maiden flight! Scientists are superstitious. Especially when the going gets tough, you need all the luck under the Sun to hit the Bulls Eye. This piece brings to you some dressing room stories, when DRDO's Kaveri...

Nitesh, be it UCAV or UAV or any flying body the biggest hurdle will remain K-9's low Thrust to Weight ratio. Without bettering (i am sure they will, GTRE, nation's Metallurgy and forging techniques are not where they were in 1989) it K-9 will be more like a burden in the form significant dead...

Size of intake is directly relative to frontal diameter of Turbofan/Turbojet. So here the intake has been sized to allow only permissible volume of air or the volume K-9 will be able to suck through LCA intakes.

No, Nitesh prototype tested is K-9 which is being developed as GTX-35VS. As of now there is no such thing like K-10 on ground, this is only predicted code name for GTRE-SNECMA JV Kaveri that too in internet world only.
