The Israel offer is too good to be true. This reminds me of the sale where they say 90% off & half the items are defective at the time of purchase itself

Govt? yes! Army or Air force? No! They would replace gunpowder with gobar, provided the gobar is imported

Not necessarily. Dumb fuses have a tendency to not explode sometimes even when dropped from aeroplanes or fired on rocky terrain from mortars or howitzers or other guns too. Such incidents frequently happen near testing ranges where the scrap dealers mistakenly take away unexploded shells.

Indian Army exclusively shared their new/changed plans with you ?? I don't mind if people express their personal opinions (no matter how flawed they are)...as long as one states it as such. When someone passes off a personal opinion as a matter of fact then its annoying! Oh wow good job...

It would be better if you keep focus on events & news instead of trying to think of insults. Offcourse, because as we know L&T went through the trouble of developing a whole new production line to make 100 guns, only the last 10 of which would be manufactured 100% in India. Use bloody common...

It is. This is a preliminary order just like that of 145 M777 (300 more possible) or 100 K9 (atleast 200 more in pipeline). Similarly Dhanush, Sharang & ATAGS among themselves would make-up about 2000 guns atleast. Kuch Bhi https://tenor.com/XXtO.gif

The obligatory filler required in all defence reporting from India. Sources said. BC, a google search would tell you this. Almost every Indian defence report is full of such inane stuff that is there to just fill space.

This really gives an idea of the scale of the size of modern Howitzers. Even a truck looks small compared to it.

I for one think that one per day is more of a peak efficiency & not sustainable in long term. The sustainable rate would be one gun every 3-4 days (I would love to be proved wrong though esp. with actions)

TIL. Thanks, I never noticed it before. I guess that any changes & improvements would be Kalyani initiative (the TATA innovative spirit has been damped ever since Cyrus Mistry).

AFAIK both the guns are same. The production is given to both companies to develop MIC culture & capabilities. Same has been proposed for IFV too.

Yes. ATAGS is longer & could hold more propellant charge giving it more range. Dhanush is a modified Haubitz 77 and very suitable for high altitude misions.

Claiming a capability doesn't mean possessing it. Offcourse Baba Kalyani would claim to have such a capability. He too has got a business to run like the OFB guys have too keep their jobs. Everybody 1st and foremost cares for his/her own interests. A debutante private player in a new field even...
