Tavor is being underrated at this point. It's an excellent assualt rifle with full barrell length. The body is suitable for CQB, yes but it's a beast at distance as well. Also based on testimony of SF, Tavors become a "part of our arm" very easily being significantly more ergonomic than an AK.

Vivek Jacob said so on his past experience. That American troops aren't made for such terrain and such situations (lack of resources etc.) He also said, Seals are good, Spetznaz are good and that everyone has their own strengths. But our Instagram fanboys don't understand discussion and nuance.

That's an understatement. CAR 816 is superior to HK 416. And it's designed by the same HK 416 designers.

Patka is a genius Indian jugaad move. To be honest, that's the kind of thinking that can help the SF as well. Look at your own combat experience, translate that into operational equipment.

Sig 516 is a novelty for them. They primarily use M4 or AKs. And shit comms. They are whack.

Yes. That's what I said, it's become a bit of an echo chamber. That's why I had asked sometime back to focus more on actual Ops. Because equipment is always an emotive issue for many (including me) especially those who have a lot exposure to foreign Special Forces. It also points to a larger rot...

These light weight plate carriers are perfect for our troops. They look absolutely atrocious on American troops who on average have bigger torsos. I understand that vital organs are still protected, but the amount of area not covered can be extremely dangerous if stuck. We are talking permanent...

You are depressed because this is an echo chamber and the same thing (while being justified) gets repeated over and over. The Positives of the Indian Special Forces are treated as regular stuff (which it should be let's be honest).

I saw this pic in r/militaryporn. Kyu videshiyo ke saamne naak katva rahe ho. (Referencing only the equipment, not the op)

High cuts without comtacs is an abomination that should be condemned and not condoned. If COMTACS aren't going to be purchased, give the boys good MKUs with rails and NVD mounts. Otherwise all you have is a gaping hole with the temple of your head and ears exposed to shrapnel.

Going back to my previous question, would a cross border op work in this case? The artillery to and fro has achieved nothing to be very honest, except attrition and some body count here and there. Would a hot pursuit like Ops, specifically targeting border facilities work better as an...

Better than "oh noooo, where are my comtacs and HK 416, oh look Rwandan SF has high cuts now". So yeah

No, it's still not that easy. And it's nothing to do with my "thinking". I work in manufacturing, this is my bread and butter. Do you know why INSAS blows oil into the face of the shooter or jams on the mountains? Why our ammunition is often unusable? It's because our factories have garbage...
