Both. That is an OG M4. Like, from the 2000s. Even the sights indicate that.

You won't find two Para SF guys with the same clothes in a single frame. Give up on it.

There are many 5.56mm AK variants. AK-101, 102, 201, 202 from Kalashnikov concern, Galil, INSAS, etc. Beryl is the only NATO Kalashnikov in 5.56mm. Only NATO AK in any caliber for that matter.

Again, those are just AK based rifles. Not copies of Type-56. They make AKs with M4 feeding systems, super weird guns with AK lower/upper reciever etc. Ingenious if you ask me.

Nope. I mean 5.56*45mm NATO. Look at the width and shape of the mag and then the bullets themselves. Those are M193 55gr ball bullets. The color of the brass case on those is pretty distinctive.

Well, they do their job well. So, they will continue to serve alongside new ballistic helmets for a long time to come. And they cover the area most likely to be hit: the front of the head. The only disadvantages it has are degree of coverage and weight. I don't know why people hate on it so...

Para airborne are like any other infantry battalion. Only advantage they have is that they can be airdropped into enemy territory. After they are airdropped, they are just another infantry battalion. So, the purpose of the Ghatak platoon is the same as other infantry battalions: shock troops.

Ghatak platoons of Para (Airborne) use them. Afaik, no other battalions do.

We need specialised plate carriers that can support Level 4. These jugaads are oversized and heavy. It is not even necessary in Indian context. Just added weight... Many people argue that Level 3+ is the best tradeoff between weight and protection, as the only protection Lv.4 offers over level...

Like I said before, Our SF may possess this equipment, but do they have enough of it to arm all soldiers? No. No single SF soldier has been seen with all these pieces of kit. Kit is scattered throughout the units. The procurements are very ad hoc in nature and not standardised whatsoever.

It works in deserts and mountains. Very well at that. The old DPM will probably continue for forests, with a few tweaks. Camo isn't for urban areas. You'll be seen a mile away if you wear a uniform. Imo, they stand out in the photos because of the wall. Also, it'll be faded over time, making it...

No, we are trialing a variant of Multicam/MTP, it looks pretty good. Coming to UCP, it got something of a free pass. Someone pulled the strings and had it adapted without field trials. Reason given was that it reduces IR signature. Apparently, corruption exists in Amreeka as well.. Also...

No we don't need all of this. Look at troops across LoC. That is good enough for now. We don't need our army to look like US Infantry. We need them safe, and able to do their job. So a primary weapon, camo dress, ballistic vest, helmet, NOD and a radio is all they need. Troops guarding LoC have...
