    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

The F-18 and SH are among the most reliable fighters ever made, they also happen to reasonably priced and have the ability deliver a shit ton variety of weapons. Actually it's one of their best platforms. The sub choice though was

P-75I subs won't be any where near ready by 2027. KEep in mind EOI has only been sent out now, it will take 3-4 years to sign a deal and another 5 years to get a boat ready. Waste of time, just order another 6 Scorpenes with AIP and get them build at MDL. Use another line for SSN.

Not sure about Brahmos on Scorpene but I think all Scorpenes are good candidates for Nirbhay integrations that should be easier than Brahmos due to Russia being a partner in the JV. By the time a follow on order for new gen Scorpenes are made Nirbhays should be ready for submarine testing. It...

P-75I is waste of time. A simple follow on order of 6 more advanced Scorpenes is the best way forward.

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

6 Scorpenes is the best way forward, everything else is a waste of time and currency. Ensure, these are fitted with home made AIP and retrofit the other 6 with AIPs during refits.

It's a real damn shame when private players create capacities to build and then have to shut down due to piss poor decision making. How easy would it be to put the same 8 billion on having a modied Arihant based diesel eletric sub with AIP, I bet we could easily have around 7-8 subs for the same...

I hope that happens, it doesn't need to be an import.

I know they are expensive, but with the line active and far better Govt. in place, its possible to hammer down the price. Whether we go for the P-75I or not, 3 follow on Scorpenes being discussed + another 6 is not a bad thing to have, we can address the dwindling numbers. I am sure we can...

Scorpene is more than adequate, offcourse the next 6-9 should have more improvements including ability to deploy Nirbhay or Brahmos missiles and its easier done with an existing line than to go for something brand new which as said would take another 10 years to induct. While we can have atleast...

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

True, I am not a fan of the Scorpene but having another sub type only adds to the problems while not addressing the key need of numbers. While it is true that Scorpene is essentially a assembly job with screw driver tech and the French screwed us over, going for anything else only wastes time...

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

The biggest issue for me is how a good design like Arihant is being under utilized, they need to mass produce this sub, i.e atleast 8 larger Nuke subs based on the INS Aridaman and another 8 with Diesel electric propulsion. The efforts of 30 years is wasted if we only order 4 Arihant class subs...

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

True, the Scorpene was delayed heavily but the P-75I doesn't offer anything a Scorpene with AIP doesn't. The Scorpene line is now mostly stable and can produce subs with more orders. I think if we order 6 more Scorpene and invest what is being set aside for the P-75I into a Diesel Electric...

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

Sure, its not as easy I say it is, but can be done, I am sure its faster to build another Arihant with Diesel Electric prop and AIP than waiting for the P-75I process to be complete, if we continue you can be sure the 1st P-75I sub won't be inducted for another 8-10 years. Meanwhile best order...

The ATV Is a good platform, technically, by strapping a diesel eletric engine and AIP, the same design can be used to develop a home made diesel eletric hunter killer.

I doubt France will sell us the nuke powered Barracuda when TOT will need to be provided, short fin sure. But the way these acquisitions go, sea trials have not yet begun and it would be another 10 years before these are inducted. We need numbers, the prudent thing is just to order 6 Scorpenes...

The P-75I tender is just a complete waste of time, the Scorpene line is active in Mumbai, just order another 6-8 of these puppies and call it a day. Add the home made AIP unit and its more than enough to meet the needs. Instead focus on making the next gen of subs in India.

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

Actually instead of wasting time building a new type of sub, MDL should be given a direct order of the larger Scorpene being offered, makes no sense to start this whole process of ordering afresh, would take another 3 years before anything is ordered if this process continues. While a direct...

    Project-75I class SSK Submarines

True, if during sea trials Arihant proves to be reliable, extremely stealthy and fast sub, we should just reuse the same design and make AIP version of this baby.
