Here- https://www.yfull.com/mtree/T1a/ There are some Indian samples too.

I guess IVC would be most of Baloch with some of S.Indian component. S.Indian component hides a significant amount of IranN.

That calculator was made at the time when not much ancient dna results were available. So these components are based on modern populations. So this a component so named because it peaks in balochs. From what I have heard most of it is IranN with some ANF, steppe and AASI. The calculator is very...

Let me check those on Yfull tree . Most haplotrees look too complicated to me lol.

It's difficult to comment on her autosomal profile based on these results, we will need to see her some admixture calculator results atleast (e.g. Harrappa DNA project). Maybe she got tested with FTDNA, Myeritage or Ancestry. Their autosomal tests don't offer haplogroup results.

Fortunately there are several threads about S/SC Asian results on that forum (usually threads are made for a particular testing company or for a particular calculator). They have accumulated quite a lot of results over the years. I guess more 90% of those results are from diaspora S/SC Asians.

I hope more & more people take those tests. South Asia is very undersampled and most samples are either academic (from studies) or from South Asians living abroad.

Nice! Both are very common in India.

If he was a Gujrati Patel then the autosomal results are as expected. His Y haplogroup is definitely surprising. Someone who works in the field of genetics & bioinformatics would be able to explain us better. From what I have heard one's sample is matched against various reference populations...

I hope we establish friendly relations with them someday. They maybe similar to Andamanese.

I don't if it is the same person but there is a Gujrati person with C on that forums. Probably related to eastern Asian input amongst some central Asians or an ancient surviving lineage lol. I wonder what would be the haplogroups of AASI. Andamanese are dominated by some specific subclades of D.

These tests are worth only for the high quality raw data they provide. Their results for undersampled population like south Asians aren't very good, they have improved a lot though.

#L- It is thought to be related to IranN. L1a1 has high frequency amongst Dravidian farming castes and thus it is believed to be an IVC related haplogroup. L1a2 is rarer compared to L1a1 (in India). It is mostly concentrated in NW India, Pakistan, Afghanistan while having a sporadic distribution...

As for Y haplogroups- # R1a & R1b- these are brother subclades and are ultimately derived from ANE ( maim component of EHG). I think Eastern Europe is dominated by R1a while Western Europe by R1b. # J- It is associated with CHG & IranN. In our case it is likely mediated by IranN ancestry in IVC...

That's the conclusion of Prof.Rai. I lack the necessary knowledge to have any personal opinion regarding this but Neolithic revolution is thought to occurred in 2 places - #the famous fertile crescent (near east)- the most likely place where various HGs gradually transitioned to agriculture...

These probably are products of migration of IVC people further deep into India. Right?
