    INS Vikrant Aircraft Carrier (IAC)

The Navy continues to impress me with its timely Indiginisation program, the same cant be said for the AF Tejas or Army programs. The Navy seems to have something right going on in their system. Must be the wipe swap thing is a great incentive to keep the spirits high. :D

Sao Paulo is huge carrier but the aircrafts on it are vintage shit. May be one day we can sell them NLCAs. Just a wishful thought! The IAC is pretty small compared to Sao Paulo.

    1) One assumption would be that they are doing work that does not require dry docks like cabling, engine work etc., Perhaps they thought in the mean while we can use the docks for other work. 2) May be this is routine procedure to check for faults in the new hull? 3) They hit a design road...

A good Cannon zoom would fix all the detailed questions! :D Looks like the Flight Deck is not yet finished, neither is the engine room, wonder why it is on wait!

Could it be because of the dry dock size restrain we did not go for an 70,000 ton class Carrier? Does our carriers size suffer from the limitations of our dry dock facilities?

The Island may be placed by cranes in a later stage like on the Baku we see below, it must be getting built some where else.

    INS Vikrant Aircraft Carrier (IAC)

That is not true, they dont need the dry docks any more because the hull is finished. Once the hull is floated out there is no use for the dry docks and it would be only a waste of space.

    INS Vikrant Aircraft Carrier (IAC)

Well that ship in the Dock does not have an Ski-jump and looks far smaller to be an AC.

    INS Vikrant Aircraft Carrier (IAC)

Saya i know the model of the AC, i am asking actual picture of the carrier.
  15. Godless-Kafir

    INS Vikrant Aircraft Carrier (IAC)

Great news Saya, this means the carrier would already be in complete form and only minor layout works would be going on. So we can wait for pictures soon, or do you have any pics?

The 40,000ton category hardly qualifies as an Amphibious Assault Ship in US standards. Their Amerika class Amphibious Assault Ships which is 45,000 tons are as big as our carriers and carry more aircrafts along with two massive hover crafts for beach boarding. Beat that Indie Funndies... I...

Ya i remember that too and i know how british made a big fuss about selling the new version Harriers to us! Yet it would be a good by if we can get them at cheap prices, it will add a good punch to our arsenal.

    INS Vikrant Aircraft Carrier (IAC)

Is that a photoshop work? There is no single seater variant as yet and as far as i know it has not flown yet either!

    INS Vikrant Aircraft Carrier (IAC)

The British Navy and Airforce are decommissioning the Harrier and most of them are in very good condition. Is there any talk of us purchasing those?

Why does the tags in your Google picture say Cochin dry dock instead of Vishakapatinam?!! It looks far bigger than the Diesel Submarine's stationed in the docks, more over we are not constructing other submarines i think?
