Normal overhaul time varies. 6K flight hours is current claimed for F 404 but its noted at place that its better than that and even reaches 8K. Ideally it should be in 7-8 years. Seems good. But if there is choice with +5KN thrust or better fuel efficiency, I would prefer latter.

RR already working with CMC. If it will be used in planned indigenous engine is anybody's guess as of now. RR being fail safe was meant that project is closed in a decade with developed engine. All the tech and experience of RR will be beneficial for sure. I still think Kaveri with improved...

I feel its fine for its actual role not what Pak projects its role as only place it is to be used is against India. Thus range is not priority for them.

Its to be in production by 2032 for AMCA block 2. Plans and initial requirement discussions are already done. Something concrete should come by next quarter. Tempest engine will be different and timeline for it is by 2040 production. But true RR needs funding and thats y I think it will work.

Thrust is low and weight is high with current engine.

2025? It is planned by 2031-32. JV is fail safe as RR most probably will make sure its done in timeline.

Bro don't get me started on hundred more issues. Thread will move off topic. MWF should have indigenous engine in first engine overhaul. Atleast as per my opinion.

It was being discussed for seeing better option viability for mk2, tedbf and AMCA over indigenous engine which i don't agree with. Great explanation.

Are u insane. Just blabbering for so long. No use of discussing with u. F 414 EPE also dont exist so keep ur mouth shut and don't linger on.

Anyone who have read or understand more than me as @Okabe Rintarou gave some new info. I don't mind getting info from others. Who said that its proven? But when both seems to be unproven then I will go for indigenous one.

Quoted in discussion as that is expected from next gen fighter jet engines. No official word.

Opinion. 120-130 KN. 98KN + 20% improvement = 117KN. Upgraded core with new Fan and some more improvements. Can't see that happening. Its still unproven platform. Tag any engine expert in forum. He can give better insights. I m not one and can't claim to be same.

I termed unproved because as far as I read to get to that 120-130KN new core is to be used. That will surely be termed as unproved. Correct me if my info is wrong which can be as i haven't read too much about EPE. F414 and F404 available currently, reliability is never in question. RR and GTRE...

Adaptive cycle engine is believed to be next gen and work has been going on from late 2000s. Even EPE is not developed yet so not sure if that point holds. Lastly, y this obsession with unproved engines that too also for single engine aircraft? Ur idea is right to have higher thrust engine but...
