    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

We are working on it yes... But Israel is already moving towards Carmel like FMBT while we are stuck with producing T-90s because we need to provide jobs to OFB. We should have already upgraded T-72s with APS and put them as lighter tank against Chinks. After years of negotiations we...

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

Read this forum thoroughly you'll understand . What we need is upgrade of engine and tanks and then move to FMBT There is no need to increase the number of already obsolete tanks.

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

That's what Tank Ex was T-72 with Arjun Turret Kanchan armour etc. Pity we didn't went for it. 1000 Arjun in 55 Ton category and 1000 of these in 45 -50 Ton category with upgrade of rest T-72s , no need of T-90 , a stable supply chain . Infact we should have gone for same engine as Arjun...

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

FMBT is realisable not a vapour ware if we can start production in next 10 years that's good enough. T-90 and T-72 are in ample number and need to be heavily upgraded. There is no point in Arjun now ... It does have potential but time is running out. We need to use what we have learnt from...

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

Or simply upgrade T-90s and T-72s we have for next 10 years. That will be around 3.5k+ tanks And then focus on FMBT.
  6. Flying Dagger

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

Both... We are in initial phase of developing our own. It takes time and a lot more in our case. Trophy probably will be used for now.

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

Actually we had better plans going after Leo based tank design just fcuked it along the way. Also T-72s were cheap and met our requirements. Our mistake was T-90s should have instead upgraded the T-72s and opt for a 2-3 crew based tank design for Arjun. A 1000+ run would have given us a solid...

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

Nope the final price will be much higher 6-7million dollars. And that has nothing to do with cost of T-90 MS . Any decent tanks these days with APS doesn't come up below this. I cannot recall the source but I had read about the final price to be even higher. I think latest Abraham Tank cost...

  11. Flying Dagger

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

I know they are in UPG standard but.. 25+15 around 40 mn for them while same were available for 29mn in 2010 around. Paid 10 mn dollar+ more for old airframe . Even T-90s can be upgraded but Sukhoi will always have RCS disadvantage. And No Sukhoi aren't 100% indigenous if you meant airframe...

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

Indian army have dubious induction scheme T-90s in 2020 and Sukhoi mki 2002 standard are two worst deal where billions have been poured in Ak-203 is another in making though not as bad as the other two. Even the old Mig 29s we are buying check out the final price even new one in 2010 were...

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

2.5+ mn dollar each tank and if the production is delayed will have to pay more for license renewal perhaps. 🙂 Or they will renew it and show it as some sort of favor.

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

  16. Flying Dagger

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

I know we have them in storage. Same with Vijayanta. The point is they can be very well upgraded and there won't be any need for light tank drama.
  17. Flying Dagger

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

And T 55 and Vijayanta in our arsenal are ending up in scrap yard or rusting in storage. 😂😂😂

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

Ewww.. same repeated crap. 1. Are you empty up there ? When IA issued the tender it was obvious L1 will win. There is a saying an idiot will defeat you by bringing you to his level. Well done you got me. OFB had more than 2 decades to come up with a product and they failed . If there...

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

No fault of T90 it's worth the money. Army bought it strip down in the beginning itself and in last 2 decades tech have evolved not degrade. But while Russian are improving on T 90s we were only assembling and license producing. Ideally DRDO itself should have come out with the improved T...
