They even predict their weather very precisely... If it's 6 pm for rain and 7 pm around it will stop. it will most probably happen that way. We will reach that stage one day.

Spyder is employed by IAF for front line bases. Around 18-20 SR and MR both are employed . Akash is another layer but majority of it is with army. Astra VL system in future will replace SPYDER once it matures.

It was in 2010 around... Not now. If we get some second hand 29s for stop gap yes. But nothing else. The delta canard of Tejas with GE engine offer a better deal now specially being Indian . Only other single engine fighter jet that is tempting is Gripen NG. We already have superior Sukhoi...

There is nothing much for TOT that they can offer and we don't have. Mk2 offers better bang for bucks.

Not an option just speculation. Even if it happens, there will be lots of condition for sale which would warrant a direct refusal to purchase them by India. And it's the A version which is more economical and with less problem. Large Anti Sh missile in any case lose the stealth advantage.

There is always a possibility... But very very low. New IIR missiles are pretty good and infact have better hit rates as always. We can use them on LCHs Apache Rudra etc UCAV can work with data provided to them through ground based radars too. That could be used to guide the missiles...

Then why should we even have them.. if not for transport job ? Unfortunately we are still continuing with these design and producing them in India.

Mi 35 is the test bed so we can easily integrate them with others and helis can be used till the end of this decade. Whenever they are needed , will be used we still don't have enough attack helis. Better than giving them to afghans. All investment went down drain.

Yes but a small batch 4 Sqd around in number, need to be upgraded asap. Depends on the workshare and tot sharing. I don't know how much we will be able to negotiate for ourselves . But do sound good but costly as they don't have French or German support.

Well he meant FADEC Rd 33 MK .... And there are lot of differences there.... No black smoke... Offcourse still a gas guzzler. Better fuel economy , higher thrust easy maintenance in comparison etc. We generally use the term RD 33 for Indian Mig 29 UPG engine. Offcourse both are RD-33...

Mi 26 weren't white elephants but a strategic capability that we had and lost. We will feel it's loss in many tasks. Having said that A Bomber fleet isn't needed for IOR . We can easily use Sukhoi to do that. What we need is better radar and standoff weapons to integrate with this amazing...

They are already upgraded recently by UAE there is slim chance for India getting it now. Tejas Mk1/1a .... Well IAF has already ordered 123 of these despite not meeting all the parameters. That too will come in years. Don't blame IAF for incompetency and poor management of ADA etc. IAF never...

The grim situation could have been made better by opting for non interrupted Rafale delivery and Mig 29 option. But our establishment is still hibernating that's it. Unfortunately even now they haven't done anything... After Feb 19 it's been 3 years. They are sleeping over Mig 29 or another...

Until we get another shocker .... I think PAF getting J-10 has woke up some IAF officers soon they'll have 30-50 of those in 2-3 years but our babulog will keep delaying it .... Not even Rafales are ordered yet we are fcuked up.

Mk2 is years away for now....and during this period IAF will suffer from low sqd strength no matter what. The only short term solution is to get those 21 Mig 29 2-3 Rafale sqd and upgrade Sukhoi. If we were smart would have ordered 4-5 sqd of Mirage or Mig 29 long back or start production...

IAF asked for Mirage 2k rightaway in 90s itself denied.... They said it then... We need it else won't be able to maintain the squadron numbers. Now what we are seeing us exactly what they told us will happen if we don't buy Mirage 2k. What do you expect them to do? There was nothing that...

MICA IR can be fired from Migs too It's just the lack of AESA radar and Astra/SFDR development which makes Mig 29 not the top of the line fighter apart from the fact we don't have much of them though now they are serving frontline in Srinagar if i remember correctly even during clashes with...

In today's context not much apart from the fact usually interceptor are fast and cheaper to operate and maintain. Mig 29 isn't used much because we don't have them in numbers and there was a time we didn't had stable spare supply for them , nor we have maintenance centre throughout all airbases...

One sqd of Sukhoi and one of mig 29 apart from 2 Tejas and add possibly one Mirage 2k sqd ( I am skeptical what will happen here i prefer to use the money for Rafale now instead unless a very cheap deal comes our way) and two more Rafale F4 which I believe will get by 25/26 . So around 6-7...
