Indian Air Force Light Combat Aircraft Tejas India's Second Supersonic Fighter

I am speculating here: In all probability they might get into a similar arrangement like that of D-29, EO pods etc....where critical systems will come from Israel, but the casings, power module etc will be indigenous.

This above report and the article by AjaiShukla has been contradicted by the most recent news report: https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/defence/israeli-firm-bags-electronic-warfare-suite-deal-for-lca-tejas/articleshow/67267200.cms AjaiShukla claimed that Elisra (which co-developed D-29...

One big difference is aerial refueling capability. The rest of the differences are mostly ‘test qualifications’ for BVRAAM, Flight envelope etc - most of which might retrospectively become available to IOC aircraft!

    Yep. The math works! 40 - Mk1 83 - Mk1A 201 - Mk2 324/18 = 18 Squadrons!!! (18 aircraft per squadron!)

If MoD/DRDO folks are reading this... The Mig21s should be made into autonomous - UCAVs!!!

Indian Air Force Light Combat Aircraft Tejas India's Second Supersonic Fighter

There are only around 32 squadrons right now....out which nearly 320 Mig21/27s will retire shortly. 320 Tejas Mk1/Mk1A/Mk2 will replace just those in the next 10 years. Extra Rafales will augment a bit....but then Mirage2Ks/Mig29s will also retire in about 15-20 years!

@Aaj ka hero The primary purpose (or easily achieved functionality) of Canards is to help achieve higher AoA & higher low-speed payload lifting capability. Canards can be definitely employed to achieve higher maneuverability, but it is not clear if Tejas Mk2 will employ Canards for high speed...

'Raw materials' doesn't mean they were just plucked from the earth! One company's 'finished product' is another company's 'raw material'!!

Dude! Your posts are so full of BS!!! You don't know what you don't know!!! You're constantly making up stuff!! Metallurgy is the key technological advancement that India is still struggling at!! Until recently even the India made ships required imports of 'steel alloy' from Russia!!! Russia...

Indian Air Force Light Combat Aircraft Tejas India's Second Supersonic Fighter

If the raw materials (alloys) are coming from Russia, then how exactly is it 100% indigeniztion?
  12. E

Indian Air Force Light Combat Aircraft Tejas India's Second Supersonic Fighter

The percentage indigenization is always by VALUE of the components NOT number of components NOT weight of components NOT volume of components! If radar costs 10% of the total value, then it's 10% import!

Perhaps you should re-read your own message that I quoted - even highlighted relevant parts of your 'exemplary work' in bright red! I am sick of thugs terrorizing the forum & sick of few others living like sheep!

The filth is initiated by the likes of you and ersakthivel! (as you did on this thread today!) But somehow thugs like you and ersakthivel think no one should challenge you even when you're spewing filth on the forum! One has to wonder why such thugs were cultivated! It requires a special...

@Dovah You locked a thread but left the vermins loose :), who always pretend to be innocent as a new born baby while spewing venom!! This guy's on my 'ignore' list. But once in a while I do the mistake of exercising 'show ignored content' and lo behold I regret instantly!

Indian Air Force Light Combat Aircraft Tejas India's Second Supersonic Fighter

So, you were merely speculating that DRDO must have the tech!!! Rest assured, all of Tejas will be using the imported refueling probes! The question was not about any random radome, but the quartz radome for Tejas - which is provided by Cobham!!! DRDO had initially fitted Tejas with its own...

Indian Air Force Light Combat Aircraft Tejas India's Second Supersonic Fighter

It is - by Cobham. I was asking because someone made the claim that these are already indigenized!!
  18. E

Indian Air Force Light Combat Aircraft Tejas India's Second Supersonic Fighter

Which division of DRDO is working on refueling probe indegenization? Also, who's building quartz radome in India if it's already indegenized?

Indian Air Force Light Combat Aircraft Tejas India's Second Supersonic Fighter

Indeed. There's a new project underway with DRDO/ADA to put 'internal RWR & SPJ' onto Mk1A. Not sure if this is the reason why the first flight is getting delayed. Also, there has been absolutely no news on the reduction of landing gear weight - which reduction being the single most important...

Indian Air Force Light Combat Aircraft Tejas India's Second Supersonic Fighter

Mk2 development is happening in parallel. HAL was in-charge of Mk1A related changes; while ADA solely focuses on Mk2. Mk2 was expected to have it's first flight by the end of this decade - not sure what's happening there either. I think I heard ADA chief say that the design is almost complete...
