Mki doesn't have an hmd. They only have an hms called Sura-K

The slide itself mentions that terminal guidance is laser based. Satellite guidance for midcourse only. I am talking about terminal guidance here. Another weapon with satellite guidance with India is Brahmos (just writing from memory here), which has a 3G (GPS, GLONASS, GAGAN) satellite guidance...

We do not know the real reason why SAAW was rejected. It could be because it wasn't ready or simply because its accuracy wasn't good enough.

None of DRDO developed bombs, Garuda, Garuthama, SAAW or Sudarshan have Satellite guidance. Satellite guidance has highest accuracy after laser guidance, but the advantage of satellite guidance over laser guidance is that it doesn't require an external source of laser illumination and thus is...

Such long posts but no simple sources showing astra is rejected or there is corruption in Russian missile deals. But the guy had balls to call my sources stupid. Also a new claim has been made, that IAF gave a tailored requirement for Astra? Do you have any source of that requirement or is that...

At least I have given sources (No matter how pathetic you choose to call them). You have given no source, none NADA. Give me a single source which says Astra has been rejected instead of shooting out of your hip Do not lie now. You talked about IAF chief getting kickback in post #2306. So you...

Yes I am still saying that Astra is not inducted and that is still true, and as per all information in public, user trials are still not done. You said the same in your last post. Astra is not rejected for Tejas. This is your imagination. You are simply crying that Astra is being rejected when...

Please help me understand where exactly are you disagreeing with me? The link posted by you also says that it was the final development trial done is Sep 2018. You are the only one claiming that it was user trial. Anyways, even if your argument is accepted that user trial is done and one year is...

Dude it is well known that user trials and the final induction will happen in 2019-20. Do not understand why you are acting like a baby here and asking questions whose answers are already in public domain.

T Sep 2018 was the final development trial https://www.financialexpress.com/defence/astra-missile-getting-ready-to-be-inducted-in-service-next-year-another-successful-test/1336126/

Not developmental phase, but user trials still remain. When that happens, the missile will be formally inducted. DRDO working on next gen doesn't mean anything. DRDO is also working on AMCA, while LCA MK2 hasn't even flown yet.

Astra hasn't been rejected. It is still in development. 50 ordered are LSP versions. More will be ordered once the development completes. Your post wouldn't look so moronic had you bothered to check the facts here.

Not talking about replacing missiles. I am more interested in longer range missiles to outrange AMRAAM. Astra will not serve that purpose. We need Derby IR or longer range Russian missiles till SFDR is ready

400 extended R77 for around 350 Russian aircraft? Someone better be joking here

No one is talking about engine here. We are talking about radars. All fighters need 2-3 radars during their lifetime too. Mirage 2000 upgrade is an example. I already answered your question in my previous post. Read properly. The last MKI deal was signed in 2012. No new configuration existed at...

    Sukhoi Su 30MKI

Not me, but the entire world knows mechanical airframes outlast electronic components. A single fighter airframe sees two or more radars during its life time of 30+ years. I see that you have now changed your argument now to why we are buying planes in old config. Well, I would say to that...

    Sukhoi Su 30MKI

It is not 6-7 years at all. The first upgraded MKI is not expected to fly before 2025. Taking an extremely conservative time period of 5 years required to upgrade all 270+ MKIs, we are still looking at 10+ years before the latest MKIs will get upgraded. And yes the radars do get wear off. Not...

Dude India isn't losing. This is standard way aircraft are ordered. The latest eurofighters are without AESA. Kuwait will be the launch customer for Captor e AESA. So does that mean the nations which ordered hundreds of eurofighters without AESA are fools? No it doesn't work like this.
  19. Defcon 1

    Sukhoi Su 30MKI

This is a misconception. The newly bought MKIs will not be upgraded immediately. The oldest ones will be upgraded first. The entire upgrade cycle will take years and by the time the latest MKIs get upgraded, they would be old enough to upgrade.

Not really. It had 8222 from a long time, most probably from the beginning. This page was updated in 2006 and mentions 8222 that far back. https://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/Galleries/Models/Misc/016/
