OT alert: True that Tomahawk fell into the hands of Pakistanis. Clinton didn't do enough to get back the unexploded Tomahawk and it eventually reached China. But the comparison between F-16s which are under surveillance and Tomahawk which didn't explode is naive.

Venkat, US personnel are permanently stationed in Pakistan to monitor the use of F-16 and for their maintenance as well.. There are periodic checks of F-16 to see if any of the parts of F-16 are tampered with. Its highly unlikely that Chinese could have got their hands on F-16.

As they say, "Show me the picture otherwise it has never happened". As long as such information is lacking on JF-17, it will be assumed that it is not in a pristine condition. So, you should keep your wisecracks to yourself if you don't know about it and stop questioning others.

JF-17 was never a competition for LCA :). LCA is completely in a different league despite it being in Initial operating conditions while JF-17 has been operating for couple of years. Still, there is no clarity as to what avionics, missiles, radars will go into JF-17, that's how hopeless...

Of course, they will claim whatever they want for the sake of prestige but the ground realities are different. Pakistan doesn't have large enough Industrial base where they can actually manufacture an Aircraft from the scratch.

So, it is clear. It is assembled aircraft rather than totally manufactured in Pakistan.
