Not Vidhwanshak... The new one. I think its OFB 8.6x70mm, most likely.

Nah. They need every other stuff more... From snakebite resistant boots to sniffer dogs, chilly shells, battery-cctvs & quadcopters, handheld metal detectors or simply cash for giving out compensations etc. Gun should be the last priority for them. There are better suited forces that are a...

Firstly, "Ranger" is a senior post. A forest range under him/her is the size of a large town... These are forest guard or beat officers or contingency staff. And, no. They don't have that much funds (nor that much requirement) & aren't standardised well all over India. They carry...

Maybe those detachments get different uniforms, maybe they're something else. Bottomline is that they not FD. Kaziranga has and poacher problems & they keep some units more trained for gunfights.

They're SSB personnel. The right one is FD.

Eh.. The SLRs are held in a way every Indian usually hold rifles, facing sideways, don't know why but pretty common. Trigger disp. is ok. The LMG has no sling, so that's only way to carry that 7kg metal in ready to fire position.

The two clips are often joined upside-down. Facing up, one will gather dirt on the rounds

We saw it at Defexpo. Nobody knows anything else. If it had a 7.62x51/39 option, then maybe it would have better chances. Now that we're almost doing away with 5.56, it is unlikely.

I know you have sone issues against Ghatak in favour of Trichy, but its foregrip may look bulky, but is made of plastic & actually has p-rails. The pistol grip is more ergonomic too. JVPC & 7.62×51 both has machined bodies. No idea why not used on Ghatak. Same for buttstock... Possibly...

Yes, I have a decent concept of the procedure. But to determine anything about the MOA based on the known bullseye diameter, you have to know the distance it is being fired from. If we average 100yards & 100m then it is about 95m. Considering 9 out of 10 bullet hit 7" bullseye from that...

...Fired from what distance? Are there different diameter of bullseye for different ranges, or are all 7"?

Eh. It's such shame what a product like that will become from their bad quality control. But maybe if this corporatisaton makes any difference... HAL made crap too, now look at Tejas fit & finish! These aint bad either. NATO. Ghatak passed it years ago. This is the 7.62×51 on the right. I...

Question: Anybody knows why India does not use any drum-mags on AKs in SAW or Submachine carbine role? Newer ones seems very compact and neat... Any issues? Only 1/2 drum per unit on same guns seems like something that would be more useful than BREN or Insas LMG in both CQB and COIN. Plus...

Isn't INSAS upgrade's butt & grip from FAB Defense too? Had to guess, because noone here had ever seen a public photo of that with Army... But please address this below part; Are you from OFB? It'll be good to have someone from there.

Pretty but pointless... IA never bothered to ask for any of these features 5-10 years ago (still don't in the upcoming Ak-203 deal) & it's too late for INSAS now. For sone reason the ARDE carbine & OFB 7.62×51 still uses the old buttstock, that would change.
