The scorpene is as new as they come. The soryu is bigger but otherwise offers no advantage and comes with lot of restrictions. Yes Type-216 would be ideal but we would be the first customers and am not sure if its worth the risk.

Ideally More scorpene with DRDO AIP and VLS for Nirbhay or Brahmos-M should be ordered (4-6)? The P-75I can be either Russian based design or Type-214 (but only if Brahmos-M & Nirbhay can be fired from it.) Germans are already providing Israel with subs capable of firing Popeye cruise missiles.

Check the endurance of Collins with Soryu class. The Soryu class doesn't have a very good endurance like Collins.

Thank god. IN never wanted that submarine. We need something that can fire Brahmos and Nirbhay for the P-75I.

True..there is novpoint making 1 sub. I would rather L&T focus on the A class and the new SSN's.

Seems like negotiation tactic. In will not go for Soryu. They want P-75I with DRDO AIP and Brahmos.

India Japan cooperation is more about economy than defence. US-2 is simply SAR craft which may carry a few ASW equipments. I don't expect anything on defence or nuclear accord.

I said Brahmos-M not the current one. Check its dimensions. Here is a link. BrahMos - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Instead of wasting time on Souryu which is made to cater to JMSDF needs and has no VLS and cannot fire brahmos or klub. I would rather design 75I based on scorpene with a DRDO AIP plug in and VLS for brahmos-M & Nirbhay.

No they cannot. And 340-350m is usually not bad but is purely the guess work from author.Though titanium alloy was used is interesting.

The only advantage of Amur is getting them fast and some commonality with Kilos. Any other sub will require extensive infrastructure and training changes (other than scorpenes ofcourse).

IN is building VLF and ELF stations pretty fast. I Hope it means subs will be churned out fast.
