Even giving them away would still bring contracts to shipyards for the renovation of the ships. Chinese shipyards must be so busy they do not care and let them rust away never to be touched again. It is a bit wasteful if you ask me.

That isn't a Type 55, it is a rusty old landing ship.

It is very easy to build a railgun of any size, the problem is making a barrel that lasts more than a few shots. The US Naval Lab got it to several hundred but the requirement is 1000. They are taking a break from testing to build rails lined with graphene. There was no point going further...
