    x posting here as GE deal has possible (negative & positive) ramification... This is interesting if US holds true to its part of deal. Chairman is saying we are to get thermal coating, crystal blades and laser drill technology as part of deal. 2012 deal was substantially less than 2023 deal. 👍

    The idea was to buy IL 76 and refit it ourselves into FTB with prolly some consultancy. Just like what chinese did.

    India could buy Russian FTB when they could. Money has always been the issue for this case. As the cost for converting IL 76 into FTB was exorbitant.

    not to mention respetable lifecycle hours. 500 for dry is too low. airforce would be replacing engine every year - if those no's are true for wet kaveri too. I expect for wet hours to be even more less because of more temp extremes and moving parts.
