    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

:rotfl::rotfl: great..then wen need not to accelerate it to mach 5. speeding it to mach 2-3 will work, keeping the design to 16m as planned. everything seems right with ISRO these days, great time we are witnessing.

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

was it DMRJ or pure scramjet??

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

no, payload is on the nose ,the second part.. on belly u will have scramjet and at the end i think a rocket engine (semicryo) i hope,, RLV- TD at present is 6 m but the final version will be 16 m.. it may have a solid booster but doest that make it a Three stage?? look at the older page on this...

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

http://www.isro.gov.in/launchers/rlv-td its will be two stage.. the scaled fuselage with wings will be first stage having semi-cryo engine at its end like rockets.. this thing will be mosterous in size.. this semicryo engine will be used for take off pushing the RLV to mach 5 as quickly as...

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

i think the winged part will have semi cryogenic engine and scramjet both .. scramjet will push the RLV to the upper thin layer of the atmosphere.. from there the semicryogenic engines will fire producing just enough thrust that the vehicles escapes atmosphere.. or the semicryogenic engine...

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

it will be LEO coz RLV is desgined for smaller payloads..ISRO want to increase the freq in low earth orbit.. good for future Indian space station mission. and it is said satellite in future will be smaller and efficinet . this shift in space satellite manufacturing came after chinese destroyed...

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

thats way too much for a project that has just begun..you cant do all this in one experiment.. all this will happen in series as we have limited budget and resource.. only way to increase the devlopment is to carry all related experiment simultaneously, which wil require much greater logistics...

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

yes.. boosters to accelerate to mach 3 + then ramjet uptill mach 5+ then scramjet till edge of atmosphere.. mach 8+ now sufficinet delta v for the top part to separate from where the semicryogenic engine will take the payload in absolute space and orbit.. so ISRO will develop DMR(dual mode...

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

my all dreams for the RLV are collapsing everyday.. first i thought it will be ssto , turned out to be TSTO. thought IT will use scramjet , reality is semi cryogenic engine. i use to think this will liquify O2 from atmosphere as fuel but the story is different.. NOW TELL ME HOW THIS IS...

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

nope it will.. i am 100% sure about that. thats how they are going to reduce the weight and reduce the launching cost.you dont have to carry a big part of the fuel right from the ground.. That was the original concept behind AVATAR RLV.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avatar_(spacecraft)

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

so this will not use scramjet but semi-cryogenic first stage(till edge of atmosphere or more) and cryogenic second stage(in the space).. Since its TSTO,the first stage is winged one, which will fly to the very edge of atmosphere or may be more using semi cryogenic engine.after that RLV will...

SPEX-scramjet propulaion exp.. some one convined me yesterday that RLV will not use scramjet , it will use semi cryogenic liquid engine... can any one throw some light,??

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

i hope these boosters will be cheaper because thats not reusable .in this prototype we used one small booster as the prototype was down scale verion of original rlv. dnt you think that we need larger and more number of boosters for the Main RLV , raising the cost of launch.Plus making it to...

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

thnx. for clearing my doubt.Ya now i think what you said is correct.. it will use semi-cryogenic liquid engine. using kerosen and liquid O2 as fuel.

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

ya i know about their X series mission, the craft was unstable , i think they have abandoned it and will us the technology in developing hypersonic missiles. X-51 looke like to me a hypersonic missiles thats not a space craft. plus the virgin space craft was also a failure.. RLV will take 15 yrs...

    ISRO's Reusable Launch Vehicles

so u mean this RLV will use only semi cryogenic/liquid engines right from the ground .
